TL;DR: When reporting on a clinical trial, it is recommended to include planned or posthoc sensitivity analyses, the corresponding rationale and results along with the discussion of the consequences of these analyses on the overall findings of the study.
Journal ArticleDOI
Posing the research question: not so simple
TL;DR: The PICOT approach may be helpful in defining and clearly stating the research question and whether or not compliance with the PicOT style, or any other format for framing research questions, is associated with a higher quality of research reporting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mobile phone text messages for improving adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART): a protocol for an individual patient data meta-analysis of randomised trials
Lawrence Mbuagbaw,Mia L. van der Kop,Mia L. van der Kop,Richard T. Lester,Richard T. Lester,Richard T. Lester,Harsha Thirumurthy,Cristian Pop-Eleches,Chenglin Ye,Marek Smieja,Lisa Dolovich,Edward J Mills,Lehana Thabane +12 more
TL;DR: Text messaging has a significant effect on adherence to ART, and this effect is influenced by level of education, gender, timing (weekly vs daily) and interactivity, and the use of interactive weekly text messaging is recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association between framing of the research question using the PICOT format and reporting quality of randomized controlled trials
TL;DR: Better framing of the research question using the PICOT format is independently associated with better overall reporting quality - although the effect is small - and better reporting of key methodologies.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of regular physical activity on bone mineral density in post-menopausal women aged 75 and over: a retrospective analysis from the Canadian multicentre osteoporosis study
TL;DR: The data indicate that a step increase in the amount of daily activity, using simple, daily performed tasks, can help prevent decreases in post-menopausal bone mineral density.
