Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of human deoxynivalenol exposure using an LC-MS/MS based biomarker method.

TL;DR: The in vivo metabolism of DON in humans was investigated and two closely eluting DON-GlcA's in naturally contaminated urine samples for the first time were determined and tentatively identified DON-15-glucuronide as a major DON metabolite in human urine based on the analysis of these samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transcriptome analysis of the barley-deoxynivalenol interaction: evidence for a role of glutathione in deoxynivalenol detoxification.

TL;DR: The results indicate that barley exhibits multiple defense mechanisms against trichothecenes, and evidence for nonenzymatic formation of DON-glutathione adducts in vitro was found using both liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance analysis, indicating that the formation of Don-glUTathione conjugates in vivo may reduce the impact of trichohcenes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acylgermanes: Photoinitiators and Sources for Ge-Centered Radicals. Insights into their Reactivity

TL;DR: LC-NMR analysis of photocured mixtures containing 1 and the sterically hindered acrylate 3,3-dimethyl-2-methylenebutanoate reveals that the products formed in the course of a polymerization are consistent with the intermediates established at short time scales.
