Journal ArticleDOI
Reproducibility of nerve fiber layer thickness measurements by use of optical coherence tomography
Eytan Z. Blumenthal,Julia M. Williams,Robert N. Weinreb,Christopher A. Girkin,Charles C. Berry,Linda M. Zangwill +5 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the RNFL measurements are reproducible for both normal and glaucomatous eyes with the commercially available OCT 2000 instrument.
Journal Article
Twenty-four-hour pattern of intraocular pressure in the aging population.
John H.K. Liu,Daniel F. Kripke,Michael D. Twa,Rivak E. Hoffman,Steven L. Mansberger,Katharine M. Rex,Christopher A. Girkin,Robert N. Weinreb +7 more
TL;DR: Nocturnal elevation of IOP occurred in this sample of the aging population and the main factor in the nocturnal IOP elevation appeared to be the shift from daytime upright posture to supine posture at night.
Journal ArticleDOI
The African Descent and Glaucoma Evaluation Study (ADAGES): Design and Baseline Data
Pamela A. Sample,Christopher A. Girkin,Linda M. Zangwill,Sonia Jain,Lyne Racette,Lida M. Becerra,Robert N. Weinreb,Felipe A. Medeiros,M. Roy Wilson,Julio De Leon-Ortega,Celso Tello,Christopher Bowd,Jeffrey M. Liebmann +12 more
TL;DR: Longitudinal data from the African Descent and Glaucoma Evaluation Study will be important for determining which baseline features are important and predictive for accurate diagnosis and follow-up in this high-risk group.
Journal ArticleDOI
3-D histomorphometry of the normal and early glaucomatous monkey optic nerve head: lamina cribrosa and peripapillary scleral position and thickness
Hongli Yang,J. Crawford Downs,J. Crawford Downs,Christopher A. Girkin,Lisandro M. Sakata,Anthony J. Bellezza,Hilary W. Thompson,Claude F. Burgoyne,Claude F. Burgoyne +8 more
TL;DR: Profound fixed posterior deformation and thickening of the lamina are accompanied by mild posterior deformed and thinning of the scleral flange and peripapillary sclera at the onset of confocal scanning laser tomography (CSLT)-detected ONH surface change in young adult monkey eyes with early experimental glaucoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Profile and predictors of normal ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer thickness measured with frequency-domain optical coherence tomography.
Jean-Claude Mwanza,Mary K Durbin,Donald L. Budenz,Christopher A. Girkin,Christopher Kai-Shun Leung,Jeffrey M. Liebmann,James H. Peace,John S. Werner,Gadi Wollstein +8 more
TL;DR: The independent factors associated with thinner GCIPL include thinner RNFL, older age, longer ocular axial length, and being male.
