Journal ArticleDOI
Contribution of NK cells to immunotherapy mediated by PD-1/PD-L1 blockade
Joy Hsu,Jonathan J. Hodgins,Malvika Marathe,Christopher J. Nicolai,Marie-Claude Bourgeois-Daigneault,Marie-Claude Bourgeois-Daigneault,Troy N. Trevino,Camillia S. Azimi,Amit Scheer,Amit Scheer,Haley E. Randolph,Thornton W Thompson,Lily Zhang,Alexandre Iannello,Nikhita Mathur,Nikhita Mathur,Karen Jardine,Karen Jardine,Georgia A. Kirn,John C. Bell,John C. Bell,Michael W. McBurney,Michael W. McBurney,David H. Raulet,Michele Ardolino,Michele Ardolino,Michele Ardolino +26 more
TL;DR: It is revealed that NK cells, in addition to T cells, mediate the effect of PD-1/PD-L1 blockade immunotherapy, and the importance of this axis in inhibiting NK cell responses in vivo is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
NK cells mediate clearance of CD8 + T cell-resistant tumors in response to STING agonists
Christopher J. Nicolai,Natalie K. Wolf,I-Chang Chang,Georgia A. Kirn,Assaf Marcus,Chudi Ndubaku,Sarah M. McWhirter,David H. Raulet +7 more
TL;DR: Powerful CDN-induced, natural killer (NK) cell–mediated tumor rejection in numerous tumor models, independent of CD8+ T cells is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Positive and Negative Regulation of the Master Metabolic Regulator mTORC1 by Two Families of Legionella pneumophila Effectors
Justin A. De Leon,Jiazhang Qiu,Christopher J. Nicolai,Jessica L. Counihan,Kevin C. Barry,Li Xu,Rosalie E. Lawrence,Brian M. Castellano,Roberto Zoncu,Daniel K. Nomura,Zhao-Qing Luo,Russell E. Vance +11 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that the Lgt and SidE families of effectors work in concert to liberate host amino acids for consumption by L. pneumophila, and that a common activity of both effector families is to inhibit host translation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Design of a Novel Integration-deficient Lentivector Technology That Incorporates Genetic and Posttranslational Elements to Target Human Dendritic Cells
Semih U. Tareen,Brenna Kelley-Clarke,Christopher J. Nicolai,Linda A Cassiano,Lisa T. Nelson,Megan M. Slough,Chintan D. Vin,Jared M. Odegard,Derek D. Sloan,Neal Van Hoeven,James M. Allen,Thomas W. Dubensky,Scott H Robbins +12 more
TL;DR: The characteristics that allow ID-VP02 to specifically transduce human DCs, and the advances that ID- VP02 brings to conventional third-generation lentiviral vector design are described as well as demonstrate upstream production yields that will enable manufacturing feasibility studies to be conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Millikelvin-resolved ambient thermography
Kechao Tang,Kechao Tang,Kaichen Dong,Kaichen Dong,Christopher J. Nicolai,Ying Li,Jiachen Li,Jiachen Li,Shuai Lou,Cheng-Wei Qiu,David H. Raulet,Jie Yao,Jie Yao,Junqiao Wu,Junqiao Wu +14 more
TL;DR: This work takes a distinct approach of sensitizing surface radiation against minute temperature variation of the object, and refined the NEDT by over 15 times with the TIS to achieve single-digit millikelvin resolution near room temperature, empowering ambient thermography for a broad range of applications.
