Measures of Diversity in Classifier Ensembles and Their Relationship with the Ensemble Accuracy
TL;DR: Although there are proven connections between diversity and accuracy in some special cases, the results raise some doubts about the usefulness of diversity measures in building classifier ensembles in real-life pattern recognition problems.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Use of Facebook in Recruiting Participants for Health Research Purposes: A Systematic Review
TL;DR: There is growing evidence to suggest that Facebook is a useful recruitment tool and its use, therefore, should be considered when implementing future health research.
Journal ArticleDOI
Parenting intervention in Sure Start services for children at risk of developing conduct disorder: pragmatic randomised controlled trial
Judy Hutchings,Frances Gardner,Tracey Bywater,Dave Daley,Christopher J. Whitaker,Karen Jones,Catrin Eames,Rhiannon Tudor Edwards +7 more
TL;DR: This community based study showed the effectiveness of an evidence based parenting intervention delivered with fidelity by regular Sure Start staff, which has influenced policy within Wales and provides lessons for England where, to date, Sure Start programmes have not been effective.
Journal ArticleDOI
Limits on the majority vote accuracy in classifier fusion
TL;DR: It is shown that the majority vote with dependent classifiers can potentially offer a dramatic improvement both over independent classifiers and over an individual classifier with accuracy p, and a functional relationship between the limits and the pairwise dependence Q is derived.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Preventing Relapse in Recurrent Depression: A Randomized Dismantling Trial
J. Mark G. Williams,Catherine Crane,Thorsten Barnhofer,Kate Brennan,Danielle S. Duggan,Melanie J. V. Fennell,Ann Hackmann,Adele Krusche,Kate Muse,Isabelle Rudolf von Rohr,Dhruvi Shah,Rebecca Crane,Catrin Eames,Mariel Jones,Sholto Radford,Sarah Silverton,Yongzhong Sun,Elaine Weatherley-Jones,Christopher J. Whitaker,Daphne Russell,Ian Russell +20 more
TL;DR: MBCT provided significant protection against relapse for participants with increased vulnerability due to history of childhood trauma, but showed no significant advantage in comparison to an active control treatment and usual care over the whole group of patients with recurrent depression.
