MHC class II sequences of susceptibility and protection in Mexicans with autoimmune hepatitis
Miriam Vazquez-García,Carmen Alaez,A. Olivo,H. Debaz,Elva Pérez-Luque,Ana Burguete,Silvia Cano,Gabriela de la Rosa,Norma Bautista,Arturo Hernandez,José Bandera,Luis Torres,David Kershenobich,Fernando Alvarez,Clara Gorodezky +14 more
TL;DR: The possible mechanism of HLA association is due to "shared epitopes", since DRB 1*0404, and those found in other populations namely, DRB1*0401, *0405 and *0301 share almost the same sequence at position 67-72 (LLEQRR, R or K at 71).
Journal ArticleDOI
Report from the killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) anthropology component of the 15th International Histocompatibility Workshop: worldwide variation in the KIR loci and further evidence for the co-evolution of KIR and HLA.
Jill A. Hollenbach,A. Meenagh,C. Sleator,Carmen Alaez,M. Bengoche,Angelica Canossi,Gabriel Contreras,Lisa E. Creary,Irina Evseeva,Clara Gorodezky,Rae-Anne Hardie,T. Hemming Karlsen,B. A. Lie,Ma Luo,Miryam Martinetti,C. Navarette,D. C. M. de Oliveira,G. Ozzella,A. Pasi,E. Pavlova,Sandro Pinto,Luís Cristóvão Porto,P. Santos,Antonij Slavcev,D. Srinak,Sofia Tavoularis,Susan Tonks,Elizabeth Trachtenberg,Sasijit Vejbaesya,Derek Middleton +29 more
TL;DR: Investigation of allele-level variation for the B haplotype locus KIR 2DL2 showed that two alleles, *001 and *003, predominate in all populations in this study.
Journal ArticleDOI
16th IHIW: Population Global Distribution of Killer Immunoglobulin‐like Receptor (KIR) and Ligands
Jill A. Hollenbach,Danillo G. Augusto,Carmen Alaez,Ludmila Bubnova,Ingrid Fae,Gottfried Fischer,Faviel F. Gonzalez-Galarza,Clara Gorodezky,Lydia Karabon,Piotr Kusnierczyk,Janelle A. Noble,Olga Rickards,Chrissy h. Roberts,Marie Schaffer,Li Shi,Sofia Tavoularis,Elizabeth Trachtenberg,Yufeng Yao,Derek Middleton +18 more
TL;DR: A summary of the collection of KIR gene‐content data for 105 worldwide populations collected as part of the 15th and 16th International Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Workshops, and preliminary results for data analysis are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interactions of HLA-B(*)4801 with peptide and CD8
Eduardo Martínez-Naves,L. D. Barber,J A Madrigal,C. M. Vullo,Carol Clayberger,Shu Chen Lyu,Robert C. Williams,Clara Gorodezky,Therese A. Markow,Maria Luiza Petzl-Erler,Peter Parham +10 more
TL;DR: Despite the low affinity of B*4801 for CD8 alpha, alloreactive T-cells that recognize B* 4801 molecules expressed by the 221 transfectant are inhibited by anti-CD8 monoclonal antibodies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mediterranean and Amerindian MHC class II alleles are associated with multiple sclerosis in Mexicans.
TL;DR: Human leukocyte antigen typing was performed in Mexicans Mestizos with multiple sclerosis to define the HLA class II alleles associated with the disease in this population.
