The association between maternal lipid profile after birth and offspring risk of autism spectrum disorder

TL;DR: Lower maternal postpartum plasma LDL concentration was associated with increased odds of ASD in offspring among children born to overweight and obese mothers, and both maternal BMI and lipids should be considered in assessing their role in offspring ASD risk.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Nonlinear Relation Between Maternal Red Blood Cell Manganese Concentrations and Child Blood Pressure at Age 6–12 y: A Prospective Birth Cohort Study

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the association between prenatal Mn concentrations and risk of elevated blood pressure at ages 3-12 y and found a nonlinear association between maternal RBC Mn concentration and elevated BP among children aged 6-12 years.
Journal Article

Longitudinal trajectories and determinants of plasma per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) levels from birth to early childhood and metabolomic associations: A pilot study in the Boston Birth Cohort.

TL;DR: In this paper , a pilot study found ubiquitous exposure to multiple PFAS in cord and early childhood plasma (reflects in utero exposure) and in early childhood (reflecting both prenatal and postnatal exposure) among U.S. Black and Hispanic children.
Journal ArticleDOI
