Journal ArticleDOI
Role of GABAB receptors in the sedative/hypnotic effect of γ-hydroxybutyric acid
Mauro A.M. Carai,Giancarlo Colombo,Giuliana Brunetti,Samuele Melis,Salvatore Serra,Giovanni Vacca,Sarah Mastinu,Angelo M. Pistuddi,Costantino Solinas,Giorgio Cignarella,Giovanna Minardi,Gian Luigi Gessa +11 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the sedative/hypnotic effect of GHB is mediated by the stimulation of GABA B receptors and add further support to the hypothesis that the GABA B receptor constitutes a central site of action ofGHB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antimicrobial and mutagenic properties of organotin(IV) complexes with isatin and N-alkylisatin bisthiocarbonohydrazones
Alessia Bacchi,Mauro Carcelli,Paolo Pelagatti,Giancarlo Pelizzi,María C. Rodríguez-Argüelles,Dominga Rogolino,Costantino Solinas,Franca Zani +7 more
TL;DR: The organotin(IV) complexes of isatin and N-methylisatin exhibit good antibacterial activity, better than that of the corresponding N-butyl and N -pentylisatin derivatives.
Journal ArticleDOI
A coordination polymer derived from the copper(II) complex of a bis-(salicylhydrazone) derived from iminodiacetic acid diethyl ester
Harry Adams,David E. Fenton,Giovannina Minardi,Emanuela Mura,Angelo M. Pistuddi,Costantino Solinas +5 more
TL;DR: A coordination polymer bearing alternate mononuclear and phenoxy-bridged dinuclear copper(II) motifs has been synthesized from a bis-(salicylhydrazone) derived from the diethyl ester of iminodiacetic acid.
Journal ArticleDOI
Organotin complexes with pyrrole-2,5-dicarboxaldehyde bis(acylhydrazones). Synthesis, structure, antimicrobial activity and genotoxicity.
Alessia Bacchi,Alex Bonardi,Mauro Carcelli,P. Mazza,Paolo Pelagatti,Corrado Pelizzi,Giancarlo Pelizzi,Costantino Solinas,Franca Zani +8 more
TL;DR: None of the ligands or complexes produced DNA-damage in the Bacillus subtilis rec-assay or showed mutagenic activity in the Salmonella-microsome test.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and characterization of new lanthanide complexes with hexadentate hydrazonic ligands
Mauro Carcelli,Sandra Ianelli,Paolo Pelagatti,Giancarlo Pelizzi,Dominga Rogolino,Costantino Solinas,Matteo Tegoni +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a series of lanthanide (III) complexes with two potentially hexadentate ligands with different donor atom sets was reported. But the stability constants of the equilibria Ln 3+ + +H 2L 1 = [Ln(H2L 1 )] 3+ and Ln3+ +( L 1 ) 2 = [ln(L1)] + (Ln = La(III), Eu(III, Gd, and Tb(III)) are determined by UV spectrophotometric titrations
