Voltage Stability of Electric Power Systems
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a model for voltage security assessment based on loadability, sensitivity, and Bifurcation analysis, and present a set of criteria and methods for Voltage Security Assessment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Definition and Classification of Power System Stability – Revisited & Extended
Nikos Hatziargyriou,Jovica V. Milanovic,Claudia Rahmann,Venkataramana Ajjarapu,Claudio A. Canizares,Istvan Erlich,David J. Hill,Ian A. Hiskens,Innocent Kamwa,Bikash C. Pal,Pouyan Pourbeik,Juan J. Sanchez-Gasca,Aleksandar M. Stankovic,Thierry Van Cutsem,Vijay Vittal,Costas Vournas +15 more
TL;DR: This paper based on an IEEE PES report summarizes the major results of the work of the Task Force and presents extended definitions and classification of power system stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unit commitment by an enhanced simulated annealing algorithm
TL;DR: In this paper, a new simulated annealing (SA) algorithm combined with a dynamic economic dispatch method is developed for solving the short-term unit commitment (UC) problem.
Journal ArticleDOI
Contribution of Doubly Fed Wind Generators to Oscillation Damping
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of increased wind power penetration by doubly fed asynchronous generators (DFAGs) on oscillation damping are investigated, and it is shown that the general trend for DFAGs is to increase interarea oscillations, however, there are exceptions for certain penetration levels (not necessarily large), for which the voltage control (VC) option of DFAG can reduce damping.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Unit Commitment by an Enhanced Simulated Annealing Algorithm
TL;DR: In this paper, a new simulated annealing (SA) algorithm combined with a dynamic economic dispatch method is developed for solving the short-term unit commitment (UC) problem.
