On the properties of massive Population III stars and metal-free stellar populations

TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of plane-parallel non-LTE model atmospheres and comoving frame calculations is presented for massive Population III stars and stellar populations based on a recent stellar evolution tracks and up-to-date evolutionary synthesis models, with the aim to study their spectral properties, including their dependence on age, star formation history, and IMF.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Effects of Stellar Rotation. II. A Comprehensive Set of Starburst99 Models

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a new set of synthesis models for stellar populations obtained with Starburst99 and based on new stellar evolutionary tracks with rotation, which results in pronounced changes in the integrated spectral energy distribution of a population containing massive stars.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of Wolf-Rayet stars in host galaxies of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) : are GRBs produced by runaway massive stars ejected from high stellar density regions?

TL;DR: In this article, the authors obtained deep spectroscopic observations of several nearby gamma-ray burst (GRB) host galaxies revealing the presence of Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars and numerous O stars located in rich and compact clusters or star forming regions.
