Journal ArticleDOI

Location and arrangement of genes coding for ribosomal RNA in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

TL;DR: In this article, the amount of rDNA in a strain monosomic (2 n − 1) for chromosome I with a related diploid (2 2 n ) strain was compared.
Journal ArticleDOI

Location and magnification of 5 S RNA genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

TL;DR: It is observed that the monosomic strain reverted to normal levels of DNA complementary to 5 S, 5·8 S, 18 S and 26 S RNA when continuously cultured for several months even though the strain remained monosome for chromosome I by genetic criteria.
Book ChapterDOI

Regulation of transcription in yeast

TL;DR: Studies on synchronous cultures of yeast have provided a large body of information in favor of periodic synthesis, and two major theories have been proposed to explain the control of synthesis of yeast enzymes.
