Journal ArticleDOI

Habitat explains patterns of population decline for an invasive crayfish.

TL;DR: It is found that in nearly one-half of the study lakes, F. rusticus experienced population declines over the study time period, and these lakes had significantly lower proportions of rock substrate than lakes that did not experience population declines, and it is recommended that more studies should investigate the potential for invasive species-mediated community or ecosystem feedbacks to eventually contribute to their own population declines.
Book ChapterDOI

Class Malacostraca, Order Decapoda

TL;DR: This chapter focuses on the approximately 3,000 species of freshwater decapods worldwide and discusses the latest studies on their evolutionary relationships and higher classification, and covers morphological, physiological, and behavioral diversity, as well as ecological importance and life history.
Journal ArticleDOI

Managing the introduction and spread of non-native aquatic plants in the Laurentian Great Lakes: a regional risk assessment approach

TL;DR: In this article, an existing risk assessment tool was modified for use across the Great Lakes Basin to assess the invasion risks posed by aquatic plants, with 38 questions, with points associated with each response summed to give a total score.
