Journal ArticleDOI
A Review of Systems Biology Perspective on Genetic Regulatory Networks with Examples
TL;DR: An extensive review of genetic regulatory networks (GRNs) from a system biology perspective is presented, and pertinent research issues related to GRNs such as roles of feedback loops, and internal and external noise are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Production of Milk Phospholipid-Enriched Dairy Ingredients.
Zhiguang Huang,Haotian Zheng,Charles S. Brennan,Charles S. Brennan,Maneesha S. Mohan,Letitia Stipkovits,Lingyi Li,Don Kulasiri +7 more
TL;DR: This review assessed four typical extraction processes and estimated that the life-cycle carbon footprints of MPLs were 87.40, 170.59, 159.07, and 101.05 kg CO2/kg MPL for membrane separation process, supercritical fluid extraction by CO2 and dimethyl ether (DME), SFE by DME, and organic solvent extraction, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fabrication and assessment of milk phospholipid-complexed antioxidant phytosomes with vitamin C and E: A comparison with liposomes
Zhiguang Huang,Zhiguang Huang,Charles S. Brennan,Charles S. Brennan,Hui Zhao,Jianfu Liu,Wenqiang Guan,Maneesha S. Mohan,Letitia Stipkovits,Haotian Zheng,Haotian Zheng,Don Kulasiri +11 more
TL;DR: The characteristics of milk phospholipid assemblies and their functionality in terms of in vitro digestibility and bioavailability of encapsulated nutrients (ascorbic acid and α-tocopherol) were studied and phytosomes exhibited good biocompatibility on intestinal epithelial cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of lamb carcass grades using features extracted from lamb chop images
Meegalla R. Chandraratne,Don Kulasiri,Don Kulasiri,C. Frampton,Sandhya Samarasinghe,Roy Bickerstaffe +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effectiveness of geometric and texture features extracted from lamb chop images in predicting lamb carcass grade was investigated, which showed the predictive potential of combining image analysis with texture analysis for lamb grade prediction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pseudo-3-D moment method for rapid calculation of electric field distribution in a low-loss inhomogeneous dielectric
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method to compute the electric field contributions from the invariant third dimension at each stage of a two-dimensional (2D) calculation, reducing the order of the model matrix by 2n/sup 2/ where n is the number of cells in each dimension.
