Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic value of hypotensive blood pressure response during single-stage exercise test on long-term outcome in patients with known or suspected peripheral arterial disease.
Inge I. de Liefde,Sanne E. Hoeks,Yvette R.B.M. van Gestel,Jan Klein,Hence J.M. Verhagen,Ron T. van Domburg,Don Poldermans +6 more
TL;DR: Hypotensive blood pressure response after single-stage treadmill exercise tests in patients with known or suspected peripheral arterial disease was associated with a higher risk for all-cause long-term mortality and MACCE, which might be reduced by statin and aspirin use.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intima media thickness of the common carotid artery in vascular surgery patients: A predictor of postoperative cardiovascular events
Willem Jan Flu,Jan-Peter van Kuijk,Sanne E. Hoeks,Ruud Kuiper,Olaf Schouten,Dustin Goei,Tamara A. Winkel,Yvette R.B.M. van Gestel,Hence J.M. Verhagen,Jeroen J. Bax,Don Poldermans +10 more
TL;DR: This study shows that an increased CCA-IMT has prognostic value in vascular surgery patients to predict 30-day CV events and long-term CV mortality, incremental to the RCR index.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scar tissue on contrast‐enhanced MRI predicts left ventricular remodelling after acute infarction
Theodorus A.M. Kaandorp,Hildo J. Lamb,Eric P. Viergever,Don Poldermans,Eric Boersma,Ernst E. van der Wall,Albert de Roos,Jeroen J. Bax +7 more
TL;DR: The value of contrast-enhanced MRI to predict left ventricular dilatation after AMI was evaluated in a consecutive cohort of patients after AMi, which consisted of 29 consecutive patients with a first AMI.
Journal Article
Prognostic stratification of obese patients by stress 99mTc-tetrofosmin myocardial perfusion imaging.
Abdou Elhendy,Arend F.L. Schinkel,Ron T. van Domburg,Jeroen J. Bax,Roelf Valkema,Elena Biagini,Don Poldermans +6 more
TL;DR: Stress 99mTc-tetrofosmin myocardial perfusion imaging is a useful tool for predicting cardiac and overall mortality in obese patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plasma natriuretic peptide levels reflect changes in heart failure symptoms, left ventricular size and function after surgical mitral valve repair.
Harm H.H. Feringa,Don Poldermans,Patrick Klein,Jerry Braun,Robert J.M. Klautz,Ron T. van Domburg,Arnoud van der Laarse,Ernst E. van der Wall,Robert A.E. Dion,Jeroen J. Bax +9 more
TL;DR: Patients with decreasing NT-proBNP levels revealed a significant improvement in heart failure symptoms (NYHA class) and changes in left atrial and ventricular dimensions and function.
