Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic significance of akinesis becoming dyskinesis during dobutamine stress echocardiography.
Fabiola B. Sozzi,Abdou Elhendy,Vittoria Rizzello,Elena Biagini,Ron T. van Domburg,Eleni C. Vourvouri,Arend F.L. Schinkel,Gian Battista Danzi,Jeroen J. Bax,Don Poldermans +9 more
TL;DR: AKBD at peak DSE is associated with increased risk of cardiac events in patients with akinetic segments at baseline echocardiogram.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preoperative Evaluation of Patients with Possible Coronary Artery Disease
TL;DR: The present review article will focus on the definition of high cardiac risk surgery and will discuss patient-related cardiac risk factors and the preoperative cardiac tests available to detect patients with coronary artery disease and strategies to reduce perioperative cardiac risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does resting two-dimensional echocardiography identify patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and low likelihood of functional recovery after coronary revascularization?
Vittoria Rizzello,Jeroen J. Bax,Arend F.L. Schinkel,Eric Boersma,Manolis Bountioukos,Eleni C. Vourvouri,Filippo Crea,Elena Biagini,Abdou Elhendy,Jos R.T.C. Roelandt,Don Poldermans +10 more
TL;DR: In patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and severe LV enlargement, improvement of LVEF after revascularization is unlikely to occur; in patients with relatively preserved LV size, a higher likelihood of functional recovery may be anticipated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obtain: a study of the Occurrence of Bleeding and Thrombosis during Anti-platelet Therapy In Non-cardiac surgery
Journal ArticleDOI
Transthoracic Doppler echocardiography assessment of left anterior descending artery flow in patients with previous anterior myocardial infarction
George Karatasakis,Evaggelos Leontiadis,Emmanuil Papadakis,N. Koutsogiannis,George Athanassopoulos,Konstantinos Spargias,Don Poldermans,Stefanos E. Karagiannis,Dennis V. Cokkinos +8 more
TL;DR: Shortening of the LAD flow diastolic PHT in patients with remote, reperfused anterior MI reflects scarred myocardial tissue in the anteroapical wall while patients who maintain diastsolic wall thickness after an acute coronary syndrome have PHT similar to patients without anterior MI.
