Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of a Corrinoid Protein Involved in the C1 Metabolism of Strict Anaerobic Bacterium Moorella thermoacetica
Amaresh Das,Zheng-Qing Fu,Wolfram Tempel,Zhi-Jie Liu,Zhi-Jie Liu,Jessie Chang,Lirong Chen,Doowon Lee,Weihong Zhou,Hao Xu,Neil Shaw,John Rose,Lars G. Ljungdahl,Bi-Cheng Wang +13 more
TL;DR: The crystal structure of the 25 kDa protein is analyzed and genetic and biochemical evidences supporting its role in the methanol metabolism of M. thermoacetica are provided and high resolution X‐ray crystal structure revealed corrinoid as methylcobalamin with the imidazole of histidine as the α‐axial ligand replacing benziimidazoles, suggesting base‐off configuration for the corrinoids.
Journal ArticleDOI
Asymmetric synthesis of (1's,2'r)-cyclopropyl carbocyclic nucleosides
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation, crystallization and preliminary X-ray analysis of a methanol-induced corrinoid protein from Moorella thermoacetica.
Weihong Zhou,Amaresh Das,J. Habel,Zhi-Jie Liu,Jessie Chang,Lirong Chen,Doowon Lee,Duong T. Nguyen,Shu-Huey Chang,Wolfram Tempel,John Rose,Lars G. Ljungdahl,Bi-Cheng Wang +12 more
TL;DR: A corrinoid protein was induced and overexpressed in methanol-grown cells of the thermophilic anaerobic bacterium Moorella thermoacetica and crystals obtained that diffracted strongly on a rotating-anode X-ray source indicate that the crystals contain a C-terminal fragment of the protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of enantiomerically pure cyclopropyl carbocyclic nucleosides
Yufen Zhao,Te-Fang Yang,Migyoung Lee,Byoung K. Chun,Jinfa Du,R. F. Schinazi,Doowon Lee,M. Gary Newton,Chung K. Chu,Chung K. Chu +9 more
TL;DR: The enantiomeric synthesis of cyclopropyl carbocyclic nucleosides has been achieved and the key intermediate was characterized by X-ray crystallography in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extensive 1D, 2D NMR Spectra of Some [7.0]Metacyclophanes and X-ray Analysis of (±)-Myricanol
Balawant S. Joshi,S. William Pelletier,M. Gary Newton,Doowon Lee,Georgia B. McGaughey,Mohindar S. Puar +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the pentacyclic triterpenes taraxerol and myricadiol were isolated from the hexane extract of the bark of Myrica cerifera, and the structure of (±)-myricanol was established by a single crystal X-ray analysis.
