TL;DR: In this article, the DEMO design and RD activities in Europe have been described, focusing on a systems engineering and design integration approach, which is recognized to be essential from an early stage to identify and address the engineering and operational challenges, and the requirements for technology and physics RD.
Journal ArticleDOI
The development of EUROFER reduced activation steel
TL;DR: In this paper, the European implementation of such a steel, where experience gained from an IEA co-operation with Japan and the US is also implemented, has been used for the development of breeding blankets in fusion power plants.
