Journal ArticleDOI
A Fractional Bond Order of 1/2 in Pd25+−Formamidinate Species; The Value of Very High-Field EPR Spectra
John F. Berry,Eckhard Bill,Eberhard Bothe,F. Albert Cotton,Naresh S. Dalal,Sergey A. Ibragimov,Narpinder Kaur,Chun Y. Liu,Carlos A. Murillo,Saritha Nellutla,J. Micah North,Dino Villagrán +11 more
TL;DR: The results of these studies and calculations using density functional theory are consistent with the oxidation being metal-based, resulting in an uncommon Pd(2)(5+) species with a Pd-Pd bond order of 1/2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metal−Metal Bonding in Mixed Valence Ni25+ Complexes and Spectroscopic Evidence for a Ni26+ Species
John F. Berry,Eberhard Bothe,F. Albert Cotton,Sergey A. Ibragimov,Carlos A. Murillo,Dino Villagrán,Xiaoping Wang +6 more
TL;DR: C Coulometric experiments show that the doubly oxidized species has a significant lifetime at -25 degrees C, and by spectroelectrochemistry, its UV-vis spectrum was recorded and it is proposed that this species contains a Ni2(6+) core with a single Ni-Ni sigma bond.
