Electrodeposition of PVA-protected PtCo electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction in H2SO4

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the electrosynthesis of PVA-protected PtCo films and their activities towards the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), and showed that the electrochemical surface area is dependent on the electrodeposition potentials and suggested different adsorption strengths of oxygen-containing species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electro-oxidation of Ethanol on Rh/Pt and Ru/Rh/Pt Sub-monolayers Deposited on Au/C Nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this article, the electrocatalysts composed of Pt, and combined RhPt and RuRhPt sub-monolayers deposited on Au/C nanoparticles, were investigated for the electrooxidation of ethanol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrochemical and X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy Studies of Cobalt Coatings on a Hydrogen Storage Alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of electroless surface deposition of Co on physical and electrochemical properties of a metal hydride alloy was investigated and it was shown that there is an increase in the cycle life of the metal hydrate alloy on electrodes cycled until a cutoff potential of -800 mV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanistic changes observed in heavy water for nitrate reduction reaction on palladium-modified Pt(hkl) electrodes

TL;DR: In this paper, the results obtained in H2O and D2O solvents are compared for the three crystallographic orientations, showing that the isotopic substitution of the solvent has a large effect in the mechanism of the reaction, changing the nature of the detected products.
Journal ArticleDOI

3-Triethylammonium propane sulfonate ionic liquids for Nafion-based composite membranes for PEM fuel cells

TL;DR: The 3-triethylammonium propane sulfonic (TEA-PS+) cation associated with the anion tetrafluoroborate, hydrogen sulfate or trifluoromethanesulfonate leads to the formation of the new protic ionic liquids (ILs) as mentioned in this paper.
