Journal ArticleDOI
An exposure to the oxidized DNA enhances both instability of genome and survival in cancer cells.
Svetlana V. Kostyuk,Marina S. Konkova,Elizaveta S. Ershova,Anna J. Alekseeva,Tatiana D. Smirnova,Sergey V. Stukalov,Ekaterina A. Kozhina,N. V. Shilova,Tatiana V. Zolotukhina,Zhanna G. Markova,V. L. Izhevskaya,Ancha Baranova,Ancha Baranova,Natalia N. Veiko +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that oxidized extracellular DNA stimulates the survival of MCF-7 tumor cells, and survival of cells with an unstable genome may substantially augment progression of malignancy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ribosomal DNA as DAMPs Signal for MCF7 Cancer Cells.
Elena M. Malinovskaya,Elizaveta S. Ershova,N. A. Okorokova,V. P. Veiko,Marina S. Konkova,Ekaterina A. Kozhina,Ekaterina A. Savinova,Lev N. Porokhovnik,S. I. Kutsev,N. N. Veiko,S. V. Kostyuk +10 more
TL;DR: Rdosomal DNA accumulates in cfDNA of breast cancer patients and triggers DNA damage response and stimulates cells survival, including cells with an instable genome; cell free rDNA triggers TLR9- MyD88- NF-kB- signaling, with significantly repressing the expression of AIM2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extracellular DNA Containing (dG)n Motifs Penetrates into MCF7 Breast Cancer Cells, Induces the Adaptive Response, and Can Be Expressed.
Ekaterina A. Kozhina,Elizaveta S. Ershova,N. A. Okorokova,V. P. Veiko,Elena M. Malinovskaya,Vasilina A. Sergeeva,Marina S. Konkova,S. I. Kutsev,N. N. Veiko,S. V. Kostyuk +9 more
TL;DR: GC-rich DNA fragments containing dGn motifs that are inclined to oxidation penetrate into MCF7 cancer cells, stimulate the adaptive response, and can be expressed; this property of GC-rich cell-free DNA should be considered and/or could potentially be used in therapy of tumors.
