Journal ArticleDOI
The role of sodium hexametaphosphate in the dissolution process of kaolinite and kaolin
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of accessory minerals in the dissolution process of ceramic grade kaolin was discussed in the light of the obtained data, and the results allowed to stress the importance of NaHMP in this process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of sodium hexametaphosphate and ageing on the rheological behaviour of kaolin dispersions
TL;DR: In this paper, concentrated dispersions (35% v, v) of ceramic grade kaolin dispersed with sodium hexametaphosphate (NaHMP) were prepared at three different experimental conditions: in distilled water at 30 and 60 °C, and in a 5*10 −3 M Ca(NO3)2·4H2O solution, at 30 °C.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Reorganization Energy in Cytochrome c is Controlled by the Accessibility of the Heme to the Solvent
Carlo Augusto Bortolotti,Magdalena Elzbieta Siwko,Elena Castellini,Antonio Ranieri,Marco Sola,Stefano Corni +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a combined experimental/theoretical approach was used to determine the reorganization energy for a number of cytochrome c variants and compute structure-related properties relevant to the kinetics of the electron transfer process through molecular dynamics simulations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermodynamic aspects of the adsorption of hexametaphosphate on kaolinite.
TL;DR: The adsorption of hexametaphosphate ion, an important deflocculant used in the ceramic industry, from aqueous solutions onto kaolinite has been studied at different temperatures and the thermodynamic parameters DeltaG, DeltaH, and DeltaS were calculated and found to be consistent with an interaction model involving the formation of an inner-sphere complex between HMP and aluminol groups.
Journal ArticleDOI
Baseline studies of the clay minerals society source clay montmorillonite stx-1b
Elena Castellini,Daniele Malferrari,Fabrizio Bernini,Maria Franca Brigatti,Germán R. Castro,Luca Medici,Adele Mucci,Marco Borsari +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a baseline characterization of the source clay STx-1b was provided, which was the objective of this study, to provide researchers a tool useful not only for new investigation but also to compare new results obtained on STx1b with literature data on ST x-1a.
