Journal ArticleDOI

Circadian Characteristics of Urinary Epinephrine and Norepinephrine from Healthy Young Women in Japan and USA

TL;DR: A circadian rhythm in total urinary norepinephrine excretion showed similar characteristics in Japanese and Americans, and the Japanese women showed a statistically significantly higher amplitude with higher peak values, but no statistically significant difference in the rhythm-adjusted mean.
Journal ArticleDOI

Circadian rhythm in urinary N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase (NAG) of clinically healthy subjects. Timing and phase relation to other urinary circadian rhythms.

TL;DR: A circadian rhythm in the urinary activity of NAG is documents, statistically validated and quantified by the cosinor method, in 19 female and 15 male human subjects, with female subjects having a higher mesor and amplitude than the male subjects, and in the excretion of creatinine and potassium.
Journal Article

Effects of naps at work on the sleepiness of 12-hour night shift nursing personnel

TL;DR: The results of this study show that napping during the 12-hour, night-shift results in less sleepiness at work and less need for recovery sleep after work.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stimulation of the secretion of dehydroepiandrosterone by melatonin in mouse adrenals in vitro.

TL;DR: The addition of melatonin to ACTH leads to a dose dependent stimulation of production and/or secretion of DHEA into the incubation medium irrespective of the circadian stage of harvesting of the adrenals.
