Childhood Trauma Associated With Smaller Hippocampal Volume in Women With Major Depression
Meena Vythilingam,Christine Heim,Christine Heim,Christine Heim,Jeffrey Newport,Jeffrey Newport,Jeffrey Newport,Andrew H. Miller,Andrew H. Miller,Andrew H. Miller,Eric Anderson,Eric Anderson,Eric Anderson,Richard A. Bronen,Richard A. Bronen,Richard A. Bronen,Marijn E. Brummer,Marijn E. Brummer,Marijn E. Brummer,Lawrence H. Staib,Lawrence H. Staib,Lawrence H. Staib,Eric Vermetten,Eric Vermetten,Eric Vermetten,Dennis S. Charney,Dennis S. Charney,Dennis S. Charney,Charles B. Nemeroff,Charles B. Nemeroff,Charles B. Nemeroff,J. Douglas Bremner,J. Douglas Bremner,J. Douglas Bremner +33 more
TL;DR: A smaller hippocampal volume in adult women with major depressive disorder was observed exclusively in those who had a history of severe and prolonged physical and/or sexual abuse in childhood.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acoustic alarms reduce porpoise mortality
Scott D. Kraus,Andrew J. Read,Andrew R. Solow,Kenneth C. Baldwin,Trevor R. Spradlin,Eric Anderson,John Williamson +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a field experiment showing that acoustic alarms are effective at reducing the number of deaths of harbour porpoises in sink gill-nets. But acoustic alarms have not been tested in field experiments with sufficient statistical power.
Journal ArticleDOI
Temporal lobe volume in panic disorder--a quantitative magnetic resonance imaging study.
Meena Vythilingam,Eric Anderson,Andrew Goddard,Scott W. Woods,Lawrence H. Staib,Dennis S. Charney,J. Douglas Bremner +6 more
TL;DR: The mean volume of the left and right temporal lobes was significantly smaller in panic disorder compared to healthy subjects and this result was significant after controlling for differences in whole brain volume.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recycling Endosomes of Polarized Epithelial Cells Actively Sort Apical and Basolateral Cargos into Separate Subdomains
TL;DR: Sorting within REs was examined and it was found that apical and basolateral proteins were laterally segregated into subdomains of individual REs, suggesting that subdomain and transport vesicle formation occur as separate sorting steps and that both processes may contribute to sorting fidelity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcytosis of NgCAM in epithelial cells reflects differential signal recognition on the endocytic and secretory pathways
Eric Anderson,Sandra Maday,Jeff Sfakianos,Michael Hull,Bettina Winckler,David Sheff,Heike Fölsch,Ira Mellman +7 more
TL;DR: Transcytosis of NgCAM and perhaps other membrane proteins may reflect the spatial regulation of recognition by adaptors such as AP-1B.
