Peptide Inhibitors of the Malaria Surface Protein, Apical Membrane Antigen 1: Identification of Key Binding Residues
Erinna F. Lee,Shenggen Yao,Shenggen Yao,Jennifer K. Sabo,Jennifer K. Sabo,W. Douglas Fairlie,W. Douglas Fairlie,Rachel A. Stevenson,Rachel A. Stevenson,Karen S. Harris,Robin F. Anders,Michael Foley,Raymond S. Norton,Raymond S. Norton,Raymond S. Norton +14 more
TL;DR: The identification of a nonpolar region of these peptides containing residues essential for AMA1 binding establishes a basis for the design of anti‐malarial drugs based on R1 mimetics.
Journal ArticleDOI
BCL-XL is an actionable target for treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma.
Surein Arulananda,Megan O'Brien,Marco Evangelista,Tiffany J Harris,Nikita S. Steinohrt,Laura J. Jenkins,Marzena Walkiewicz,Robert J.J. O'Donoghue,Ashleigh R Poh,Bibhusal Thapa,David S. Williams,Trishe Leong,John M. Mariadason,Xia Li,Jonathan Cebon,Erinna F. Lee,Thomas John,W.D. Fairlie +17 more
TL;DR: It is found BCL-XL is the dominant pro-survival protein in a panel of cell lines in vitro, though potent, synergistic cell killing occurred with MCL-1 co-targeting, and in vivo B CL-XL inhibition was as effective as Cisplatin, and the combination enhanced tumour growth control and survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct visualization of Bcl-2 family protein interactions using live cell fluorescent protein redistribution assays
Chihunt Wong,Daniel Anderson,Erinna F. Lee,Erinna F. Lee,W.D. Fairlie,W.D. Fairlie,Mary J. C. Ludlam +6 more
TL;DR: Direct visualization of Bcl-2 family protein interactions using live cell fluorescent protein redistribution assays as discussed by the authors is shown in Fig. 1, where the Bcl2 family is represented as a set of cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Co-Operativity between MYC and BCL-2 Pro-Survival Proteins in Cancer.
W.D. Fairlie,Erinna F. Lee +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the individual roles of both proteins in cancer, describe cancers where co-operativity between them has been well-characterised and finally, some strategies to target these proteins therapeutically.
Peer ReviewDOI
Author response: Computationally designed high specificity inhibitors delineate the roles of BCL2 family proteins in cancer
Stephanie Berger,Erik Procko,Erik Procko,Daciana Margineantu,Erinna F. Lee,Betty W. Shen,Alex Zelter,Daniel-Adriano Silva,Kusum Chawla,Marco J Herold,Marco J Herold,Jean-Marc Garnier,Jean-Marc Garnier,Richard J. Johnson,Michael J. MacCoss,Guillaume Lessene,Guillaume Lessene,Trisha N. Davis,Patrick S. Stayton,Barry L. Stoddard,W. Douglas Fairlie,David M. Hockenbery,David Baker +22 more
