Noninvasive remote-controlled release of drug molecules in vitro using magnetic actuation of mechanized nanoparticles
Courtney R. Thomas,Daniel P. Ferris,Jae Hyun Lee,Eun Joo Choi,Mi Hyeon Cho,Eun Sook Kim,J. Fraser Stoddart,Jeon Soo Shin,Jinwoo Cheon,Jeffrey I. Zink +9 more
TL;DR: A novel material that incorporates zinc-doped iron oxide nanocrystals within a mesoporous silica framework that has been surface-modified with pseudorotaxanes is described, which promises to be a noninvasive, externally controlled drug delivery system with cancer-killing properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular approaches for the detection and monitoring of microbial communities in bioaerosols: A review
Keunje Yoo,Tae Kwon Lee,Eun Joo Choi,Jihoon Yang,Sudheer Kumar Shukla,Sang Il Hwang,Joonhong Park +6 more
TL;DR: Current molecular methods for the identification, quantification, and distribution of bioaerosol agents are reviewed and provide additional supports for growing evidence that microbial diversity or composition in the bioaerOSol is an indispensable environmental aspect linking with public health.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exploring the antibiotic resistome in activated sludge and anaerobic digestion sludge in an urban wastewater treatment plant via metagenomic analysis.
TL;DR: Shooting metagenomic analysis was used to identify comprehensive ARGs and their mechanisms, bacterial communities, and MGEs from 4 configurations with 2 activated sludge and 2 anaerobic digestion sludge samples, providing valuable information regarding the prevalence of ARG types and M GEs and the difference patterns between the AS and ADS systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk prediction for malignant conversion of oral epithelial dysplasia by hypoxia related protein expression
Xianglan Zhang,Xianglan Zhang,Seonhui Han,Hye Yeon Han,Mi Heon Ryu,Ki Yeol Kim,Eun Joo Choi,In Ho Cha,Jin Kim +8 more
TL;DR: Investigating whether hypoxia-related proteins can be predictive markers for malignant conversion of oral premalignant lesions with epithelial dysplasia found high expression of CA9 was an independent predictive marker of malignant Conversion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complications in endoscopic-assisted open reduction and internal fixation of mandibular condyle fractures
TL;DR: EAORIF is a reliable technique for treating condylar fractures, regardless of patient age, number of fixation plates, or accompanying mandibular fractures, however, improvements are needed to reduce long-term complications.
