Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of Cellular and Serological Responses to Acute SARS-CoV-2 Infection Demonstrates the Functional Importance of the Receptor-Binding Domain.
Grace Mantus,Lindsay E. Nyhoff,Robert C. Kauffman,Venkata Viswanadh Edara,Lilin Lai,Katharine Floyd,Pei Yong Shi,Vineet D. Menachery,Srilatha Edupuganti,Erin M. Scherer,Ariel Kay,Nina N. McNair,Evan J. Anderson,Nadine Rouphael,Rafi Ahmed,Mehul S. Suthar,Jens Wrammert +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a cross-sectional analysis of the dynamics of B cell responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection in hospitalized COVID-19 patients and observe changes in B cell subsets consistent with a robust humoral immune response, including significant expansion of plasmablasts and activated receptor-binding domain (RBD)-specific memory B cell populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
COVID-19 Investigational Treatments in Use Among Hospitalized Patients Identified Through the US Coronavirus Disease 2019-Associated Hospitalization Surveillance Network, March 1-June 30, 2020.
Anna M. Acosta,Adria L Mathis,Daniel S. Budnitz,Daniel S. Budnitz,Andrew I. Geller,Andrew I. Geller,Shua J Chai,Shua J Chai,Nisha B Alden,James Meek,Evan J. Anderson,Evan J. Anderson,Patricia Ryan,Sue Kim,Kathryn Como-Sabetti,Salina Torres,Elizabeth Dufort,Nancy M. Bennett,Laurie M Billing,Melissa Sutton,H. Keipp Talbot,Andrea George,Huong Pham,Aron J. Hall,Alicia M. Fry,Alicia M. Fry,Shikha Garg,Shikha Garg,Lindsay Kim,Lindsay Kim +29 more
TL;DR: Using a coronavirus disease 2019–associated hospitalization surveillance network, it is found that 42.5% of hospitalized CO VID-19 cases with available data from March 1–June 30, 2020, received ≥1 COVID-19 investigational treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI
Shigella Bacteremia, Georgia, USA, 2002-20121.
Melissa Tobin-D'Angelo,Nadine Oosmanally,Siri N Wilson,Evan J. Anderson,Suzanne Segler,Lynett Poventud +5 more
TL;DR: Bacteremia was associated with age >18 years, black race, and S. flexneri, and more than half of patients with bacterenmia were HIV-infected.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and optimization of a Zika virus antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) assay.
Xuemin Chen,Larry J. Anderson,Christina A. Rostad,Lingmei Ding,Lilin Lai,Mark J. Mulligan,Nadine Rouphael,Muktha S Natrajan,Courtney McCracken,Evan J. Anderson +9 more
TL;DR: A stably transfected, dual-reporter target cell line with inducible expression of a chimeric ZIKV prM-E protein on the cell surface as the target cell for the ADCC assay demonstrates that this assay can detect ZikV ADCC with high sensitivity and specificity.
