Solid-state dye-sensitized mesoporous TiO2 solar cells with high photon-to-electron conversion efficiencies

TL;DR: A dye-sensitized heterojunction of TiO2 with the amorphous organic hole-transport material 2,2′,7,7′-tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenyl-amine)9,9′-spirobifluorene (OMeTAD) was described in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low molecular organic glasses for blue electroluminescence

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-layer blue electroluminescence device with high color purity, high brightness and low turn-on voltage is presented, which is fabricated by combining a hole transporting spiro-TAD with an electron transport spiro PBD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solid‐State Amplified Spontaneous Emission in Some Spiro‐Type Molecules: A New Concept for the Design of Solid‐State Lasing Molecules

TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral narrowing in submicron thick neat films, of 2,2′,7,7′-tetraphenyl-9,9′-spirobifluorene (spiro-quarterphenyl) and 2, 2′, 7,7-7′ -tetrakis(biphenyl 4-yl)-9, 9-spira-biflourene (Spiro-sexiphenYL), was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spiro linked compounds for use as active materials in organic light emitting diodes

TL;DR: Spiro-linkage of low molecular weight entities as a new structural concept for the design of new active materials for electroluminescent applications is presented in this article, which results in nonpolymeric organic glasses with high thermal stability as can be derived from their high glass transition temperatures.
