Regulatory Shifts in Plastid Transcription Play a Key Role in Morphological Conversions of Plastids during Plant Development.
Monique Liebers,Björn Grübler,Fabien Chevalier,Silva Lerbs-Mache,Livia Merendino,Robert Blanvillain,Thomas Pfannschmidt +6 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesize that each conversion from one plastid type into another is either accompanied or even preceded by significant changes in plastsid transcription suggesting that these changes represent important determinants of plastID morphology and protein composition and, hence, the plastids type.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plastid RNA polymerases: orchestration of enzymes with different evolutionary origins controls chloroplast biogenesis during the plant life cycle
Thomas Pfannschmidt,Robert Blanvillain,Livia Merendino,Florence Courtois,Fabien Chevalier,Monique Liebers,Björn Grübler,Elisabeth Hommel,Silva Lerbs-Mache +8 more
TL;DR: This review focuses on the activation and action of plastid RNA polymerases, which play a key role in the development of new chloroplasts from proplastids and provides working models of their sequential expression and function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphological bases of phytoplankton energy management and physiological responses unveiled by 3D subcellular imaging
Clarisse Uwizeye,Johan Decelle,Pierre-Henri Jouneau,Serena Flori,Benoit Gallet,Jean-Baptiste Keck,Davide Dal Bo,Christine Moriscot,Claire Seydoux,Fabien Chevalier,Nicole L. Schieber,Rachel Templin,Guillaume Allorent,Florence Courtois,Gilles Curien,Yannick Schwab,Guy Schoehn,Samuel C. Zeeman,Denis Falconet,Giovanni Finazzi +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D morphometric analysis across seven distant phytoplankton taxa was performed to reveal evolutionarily-conserved topologies of energy-managing organelles, and their role in phyto-ankton response at subcellular scales.
Journal ArticleDOI
Light and Plastid Signals Regulate Different Sets of Genes in the Albino Mutant Pap7-1
Björn Grübler,Livia Merendino,Sven Twardziok,Morgane Mininno,Guillaume Allorent,Fabien Chevalier,Monique Liebers,Robert Blanvillain,Klaus F. X. Mayer,Silva Lerbs-Mache,Stéphane Ravanel,Thomas Pfannschmidt +11 more
TL;DR: The albino pap7-1 mutant of Arabidopsis reveals the relative impact of light and plastid developmental stage on the expression of nuclear genes involved in metabolism and photosynthesis and indicates that a block in chloroplast biogenesis per se does not repress expression of them as suggested by earlier studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
PAP genes are tissue- and cell-specific markers of chloroplast development.
TL;DR: A selective impact of light on PAP gene expression is demonstrated and a high tissue specificity that is coupled to developmental progression especially during the transition from skotomorphogenesis to photomorphogenesis is uncovered.
