Journal ArticleDOI
A Multi-institutional International Analysis of Textbook Outcomes among Patients Undergoing Curative-Intent Resection of Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma
Katiuscha Merath,Qinyu Chen,Fabio Bagante,Fabio Bagante,Sorin Alexandrescu,Hugo Marques,Luca Aldrighetti,Shishir K. Maithel,Carlo Pulitano,Matthew J. Weiss,Todd W. Bauer,Feng Shen,George A. Poultsides,Olivier Soubrane,Guillaume Martel,B. Groot Koerkamp,Alfredo Guglielmi,Endo Itaru,Jordan M. Cloyd,Timothy M. Pawlik +19 more
TL;DR: While hepatic resection for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma was performed with less than 5% mortality in specialized centers, a textbooks outcome was achieved in only approximately 26% of patients, suggesting a textbook outcome may be useful for the reporting of patient-level hospital performance and hospital variation, leading to quality improvement efforts after resection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Textbook Outcomes Among Medicare Patients Undergoing Hepatopancreatic Surgery.
Katiuscha Merath,Qinyu Chen,Fabio Bagante,Fabio Bagante,Eliza W. Beal,Ozgur Akgul,Mary Dillhoff,Jordan M. Cloyd,Timothy M. Pawlik +8 more
TL;DR: Less than one-half of Medicare patients achieved a TO following hepatopancreatic procedures with a wide variation in the rates of TO among hospitals, which could be useful for the public reporting of patient level hospital performance and hospital variation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early versus late recurrence of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma after resection with curative intent.
Xu Feng Zhang,Xu Feng Zhang,Eliza W. Beal,Fabio Bagante,Jeffery Chakedis,Matthew J. Weiss,Irinel Popescu,Hugo Marques,Luca Aldrighetti,Shishir K. Maithel,Carlo Pulitano,Todd W. Bauer,Feng Shen,George A. Poultsides,Oliver Soubrane,Guillaume Martel,Bas Groot Koerkamp,Endo Itaru,Timothy M. Pawlik +18 more
TL;DR: The objective of this study was to investigate the characteristics, treatment and prognosis of early versus late recurrence of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) after hepatic resection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical significance and prognostic relevance of KRAS, BRAF, PI3K and TP53 genetic mutation analysis for resectable and unresectable colorectal liver metastases: A systematic review of the current evidence.
Diamantis I. Tsilimigras,Ioannis Ntanasis-Stathopoulos,Fabio Bagante,Demetrios Moris,Jordan M. Cloyd,Eleftherios Spartalis,Timothy M. Pawlik +6 more
TL;DR: Data on the mutational status on CRLM should be a part of multidisciplinary discussions to help inform the therapeutic approach, type of chemotherapy, as well as timing and approach of surgical resection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognosis After Resection of Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) Stage 0, A, and B Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Comprehensive Assessment of the Current BCLC Classification
Diamantis I. Tsilimigras,Fabio Bagante,Fabio Bagante,Kota Sahara,Dimitrios Moris,J. Madison Hyer,Lu Wu,Francesca Ratti,Hugo Marques,Olivier Soubrane,Anghela Z. Paredes,Vincent W. T. Lam,George A. Poultsides,Irinel Popescu,Sorin Alexandrescu,Guillaume Martel,Aklile Workneh,Alfredo Guglielmi,Thomas J. Hugh,Luca Aldrighetti,Itaru Endo,Timothy M. Pawlik +21 more
TL;DR: Designation into BCLC stage B should not be considered an a priori contraindication to surgery, and surgery provided acceptable long-term outcomes among select patients with B CLC-B HCC.
