Journal ArticleDOI
Hypoglycaemic activity of two spices extracts: Rhus coriaria L. and Bunium persicum Boiss.
TL;DR: Ethyl acetate extract of sumac may have interest in the treatment and prevention of hyperglycaemia, diabetes and obesity, with an IC50 value of 28.7 µg mL−1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of irrigation frequency and planting density on herbage biomass and oil production of thyme (Thymus vulgaris) and hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis)
TL;DR: The results showed that there is a high potential for saving water through longer irrigation intervals (e.g. 14 days) using locally adapted plants in the semi-arid conditions of Khorasan in Iran to serve as alternative sources of income in dry years.
Journal ArticleDOI
Yield and seed quality of Plantago ovata and Nigella sativa under different irrigation treatments
TL;DR: In this paper, the final seed yield and quality of two local plant species were investigated under water deficit conditions over two growing seasons (2003 and 2004) in the northeast of Iran.
Journal ArticleDOI
Salvia leriifolia Benth (Lamiaceae) extract demonstrates in vitro antioxidant properties and cholinesterase inhibitory activity
Monica Rosa Loizzo,Rosa Tundis,Filomena Conforti,Federica Menichini,Marco Bonesi,Farsad Nadjafi,Natale G. Frega,Francesco Menichini +7 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesized that S leriifolia, because of its functional properties, would be a good candidate to use as a nutraceutical product for improving memory in the elderly or patients affected by Alzheimer disease (ad), and results suggest potential health benefits of S loriifolia extracts.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vitro biological activity of Salvia leriifolia benth essential oil relevant to the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
Monica Rosa Loizzo,Federica Menichini,Rosa Tundis,Marco Bonesi,Filomena Conforti,Farsad Nadjafi,Giancarlo Statti,Natale G. Frega,Francesco Menichini +8 more
TL;DR: In this study the chemical composition, cholinesterase inhibitory property and anti-inflammatory activity of S. leriifolia Benth.
