Role of Biogenic Volatile Organic Compounds (BVOC) emitted by urban trees on ozone concentration in cities: a review

TL;DR: The effect of BVOC emission on the O3 uptake by the trees is further complicating the interactions BV OC-O3, thus making challenging the estimation of the calculation of BvOC effect on O3 concentration at urban level.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of ozone on monoterpene emissions and evidence for an isoprene-like antioxidant action of monoterpenes emitted by Quercus ilex leaves.

TL;DR: It is concluded that monoterpenes produced by Q. ilex leaves share the same biosynthetic pathway and function as isoprene, and all volatile isoprenoids may have similar antioxidant properties and may be stimulated by the same stress-inducing conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial and functional correlation between diamine-oxidase and peroxidase activities and their dependence upon de-etiolation and wounding in chick-pea stems

TL;DR: A strict spatial and functional correlation can be inferred between DAO and POD in chick-pea, and probably in other Leguminosae species, in accordance with previous evidence indicating an integrated role for these enzymes in the apoplast.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regulating Ecosystem Services of forests in ten Italian Metropolitan Cities: Air quality improvement by PM10 and O3 removal

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors quantified the ecosystem service of particulate matter (PM 10 ) and Ozone (O 3 ) removal from urban and periurban forests in ten metropolitan cities in Italy, and its total monetary value.
