Journal ArticleDOI
Atmospheric characterization of the ultra-hot Jupiter WASP-33b. Detection of Ti and V emission lines and retrieval of a broadened line profile
D. Cont,Fei Yan,Ansgar Reiners,Lisa Nortmann,Karan Molaverdikhani,E. Pall'e,Th. Henning,I. Ribas,Andreas Quirrenbach,Jose Caballero,Pedro J. Amado,Stefan Czesla,F. Lesjak,M. L'opez-Puertas,Paul Mollière,D. Montes,Giuseppe Morello,Evangelos Nagel,S. Pedraz,A. S'anchez-L'opez +19 more
TL;DR: In this article , the spectral signatures of Ti, V, and Si were detected for the first time via emission spectroscopy, which unambiguously proves the presence of an inverted temperature in the planetary atmosphere.
Journal ArticleDOI
The widest broadband transmission spectrum (0.38-1.71 $\mu$m) of HD 189733b from ground-based chromatic Rossiter-McLaughlin observations
M. Oshagh,F. F. Bauer,M. Lafarga,Karan Molaverdikhani,Pedro J. Amado,Lisa Nortmann,Ansgar Reiners,A. Guzmán-Mesa,Enric Palle,Erick Nagel,Jose A. Caballero,N. Casasayas-Barris,A. Claret,S. Czesla,D. Galadí,Th. Henning,S. Khalafinejad,Manuel López-Puertas,D. Montes,A. Quirrenbach,I. Ribas,M. Stangret,Fei Yan,M. R. Zapatero Osorio,Mathias Zechmeister +24 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the chromatic Rossiter-McLaughlin technique on archival and new observational data obtained with the HARPS and CARMENES instruments to retrieve transmission spectra of HD 189733b.
Journal ArticleDOI
LBT transmission spectroscopy of HAT-P-12b: confirmation of a cloudy atmosphere with no significant alkali features
Fei Yan,Néstor Espinoza,Karan Molaverdikhani,Th. Henning,Luigi Mancini,M. Mallonn,Benjamin V. Rackham,Benjamin V. Rackham,Daniel Apai,Andrés Jordán,Andrés Jordán,Andrés Jordán,P. Mollière,Guo Chen,Ludmila Carone,Ansgar Reiners +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors observed one transit of the exoplanet HAT-P-12b with the multi-object double spectrograph (MODS) on the Large Binocular Telescope (LBT) with the binocular mode and obtained an atmosphere transmission spectrum with a wavelength coverage of 0.4 -1.6
Journal ArticleDOI
The PEPSI Exoplanet Transit Survey (PETS) I: Investigating the presence of a silicate atmosphere on the super-Earth 55 Cnc e
E. Keles,Matthias Mallonn,Daniel Kitzmann,Katja Poppenhaeger,Jens Hoeijmakers,Ilya Ilyin,X. Alexoudi,T. A. Carroll,Julián D. Alvarado-Gómez,Laura Ketzer,Aldo S. Bonomo,Francesco Borsa,Scott Gaudi,Th. Henning,Luca Malavolta,Karan Molaverdikhani,Valerio Nascimbeni,Jennifer Patience,Lorenzo Pino,Gaetano Scandariato,Everett Schlawin,Evgenya L. Shkolnik,D. Sicilia,Alessandro Sozzetti,Mary Foster,Christian Veillet,Ji Wang,Fei Yan,Klaus G. Strassmeier +28 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a high-resolution spectroscopic transit observation of the super-Earth 55 Cnc e is presented, acquired with the PEPSI instrument at the Large Binocular Telescope.
Journal ArticleDOI
The PEPSI Exoplanet Transit Survey (PETS). II. A Deep Search for Thermal Inversion Agents in KELT-20 b/MASCARA-2 b with Emission and Transmission Spectroscopy
Marshall C. Johnson,Ji 王 Wang 吉,Anusha Pai Asnodkar,Aldo S. Bonomo,B. S. Gaudi,Th. Henning,Ilya Ilyin,E. Keles,Luca Malavolta,Matthias Mallonn,Karan Molaverdikhani,Valerio Nascimbeni,Jennifer Patience,Katja Poppenhaeger,Gaetano Scandariato,Everett Schlawin,Evgenya L. Shkolnik,D. Sicilia,Alessandro Sozzetti,Klaus G. Strassmeier,Christian Veillet,Fei Yan +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors used LBT/PEPSI to observe the atmosphere of the ultrahot Jupiters (UHJ KELT-20 b in both transmission and emission in order to search for molecular agents which could be responsible for the temperature inversion.
