Journal ArticleDOI
State of the Art: Iterative CT Reconstruction Techniques
Lucas L. Geyer,U. Joseph Schoepf,Felix G. Meinel,John W. Nance,Gorka Bastarrika,Jonathon Leipsic,Narinder Paul,Marco Rengo,Andrea Laghi,Carlo N. De Cecco,Carlo N. De Cecco +10 more
TL;DR: In this contribution, the technical bases of IR are reviewed and the currently available algorithms released by the major CT manufacturers are described and the current status of their clinical implementation is surveyed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictive Value of Computed Tomography in Acute Pulmonary Embolism: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Felix G. Meinel,Felix G. Meinel,John W. Nance,U. Joseph Schoepf,Verena S. Hoffmann,Kolja M. Thierfelder,Philip Costello,Samuel Z. Goldhaber,Fabian Bamberg +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarize available evidence on the predictive value of CT severity parameters for short-term clinical outcome in pulmonary embolism and find that an abnormally increased RV/left ventricular diameter ratio measured on transverse sections was associated with an approximately 2.5-fold risk for all-cause mortality (pooled odds ratio [OR],2.5; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.8-3.5) and adverse outcome (OR, 2.6-3).
Journal ArticleDOI
Texture analysis as imaging biomarker of tumoral response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in rectal cancer patients studied with 3-T magnetic resonance.
Carlo N. De Cecco,Balaji Ganeshan,Maria Ciolina,Marco Rengo,Felix G. Meinel,Daniela Musio,Francesca De Felice,Nicola Raffetto,Vincenzo Tombolini,Andrea Laghi +9 more
TL;DR: Texture parameters derived from T2w images of rectal cancer have the potential to act as imaging biomarkers of tumoral response to neoadjuvant CRT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Emphysema diagnosis using X-ray dark-field imaging at a laser-driven compact synchrotron light source
Simone Schleede,Felix G. Meinel,Martin Bech,Martin Bech,Julia Herzen,Klaus Achterhold,Guillaume Potdevin,Andreas Malecki,Silvia Adam-Neumair,Sven F. Thieme,Fabian Bamberg,Konstantin Nikolaou,Alexander Bohla,Ali Oe. Yildirim,Roderick J. Loewen,Martin Gifford,Ronald D. Ruth,Oliver Eickelberg,Maximilian F. Reiser,Franz Pfeiffer +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used grating-based dark-field images of emphysematous vs. healthy lung tissue to monitor the morphological changes that the alveoli network undergoes in the progression of these diseases, which is related to small-angle scattering in the sample.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of diagnostic value of a novel noninvasive coronary computed tomography angiography method versus standard coronary angiography for assessing fractional flow reserve.
Matthias Renker,U. Joseph Schoepf,Rui Wang,Rui Wang,Felix G. Meinel,Felix G. Meinel,Jeremy D. Rier,Richard R. Bayer,Helge Möllmann,Christian W. Hamm,Daniel H. Steinberg,Stefan Baumann,Stefan Baumann +12 more
TL;DR: The CT-based FFR algorithm evaluated here outperforms standard evaluation of cCTA for the detection of hemodynamically significant stenoses while allowing on-site application within clinically viable time frames.
