Journal ArticleDOI
Predicting complete cytogenetic response and subsequent progression-free survival in 2060 patients with CML on imatinib treatment: the EUTOS score
Joerg Hasford,Michele Baccarani,Verena S. Hoffmann,Joelle Guilhot,Susanne Saussele,Gianantonio Rosti,François Guilhot,Kimmo Porkka,Gert J. Ossenkoppele,Doris Lindoerfer,Bengt Simonsson,Markus Pfirrmann,Rüdiger Hehlmann +12 more
TL;DR: A new prognostic score that is superior to the Sokal and Euro scores both in its prognostic ability and in its simplicity is described, which can be used to identify CML patients with significantly lower probabilities of responding to therapy and survival, thus alerting physicians to those patients who require closer observation and early intervention.
Journal ArticleDOI
Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review of the Predictive Value of Carotid Plaque Hemorrhage on Cerebrovascular Events by Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Tobias Saam,Holger Hetterich,Verena S. Hoffmann,Chun Yuan,Martin Dichgans,Holger Poppert,Thomas A. Koeppel,Ulrich Hoffmann,Maximilian F. Reiser,Fabian Bamberg +9 more
TL;DR: The presence of IPH on MRI strongly predicts cerebrovascular events and Homogenization of future studies is warranted to allow for sufficient assessment of level of evidence for intervention trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of hemodynamically significant coronary artery stenosis: incremental diagnostic value of dynamic CT-based myocardial perfusion imaging.
Fabian Bamberg,Alexander Becker,Florian Schwarz,Roy P. Marcus,Martin Greif,Franz von Ziegler,Ron Blankstein,Udo Hoffmann,Wieland H. Sommer,Verena S. Hoffmann,Thorsten R. C. Johnson,Hans-Christoph Becker,Bernd J. Wintersperger,Maximilian F. Reiser,Konstantin Nikolaou +14 more
TL;DR: Dynamic CT-based stress myocardial perfusion imaging may allow detection of hemodynamically significant coronary artery stenosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictive Value of Computed Tomography in Acute Pulmonary Embolism: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Felix G. Meinel,Felix G. Meinel,John W. Nance,U. Joseph Schoepf,Verena S. Hoffmann,Kolja M. Thierfelder,Philip Costello,Samuel Z. Goldhaber,Fabian Bamberg +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarize available evidence on the predictive value of CT severity parameters for short-term clinical outcome in pulmonary embolism and find that an abnormally increased RV/left ventricular diameter ratio measured on transverse sections was associated with an approximately 2.5-fold risk for all-cause mortality (pooled odds ratio [OR],2.5; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.8-3.5) and adverse outcome (OR, 2.6-3).
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognosis of long-term survival considering disease-specific death in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia
Markus Pfirrmann,Michele Baccarani,Susanne Saussele,Joelle Guilhot,Francisco Cervantes,Gert J. Ossenkoppele,Verena S. Hoffmann,Fausto Castagnetti,Joerg Hasford,Rüdiger Hehlmann,Bengt Simonsson +10 more
TL;DR: This work tackled the reassessment of prognosis under particular consideration of the probabilities of dying of CML and determined a new long-term survival score with three prognostic groups, which supports the prospective assessment of long- term antileukemic efficacy and risk-adapted treatment.
