Tuning the relative concentration ratio of bulk defects to surface defects in TiO2 nanocrystals leads to high photocatalytic efficiency.

TL;DR: It was found for the first time that decreasing the relative concentration ratio of bulk defects to surface defects in TiO(2) nanocrystals could significantly improve the separation efficiency of photogenerated electrons and holes, thus significantly enhancing the photocatalytic efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photocatalytic degradation of gaseous benzene with CdS-sensitized TiO2 film coated on fiberglass cloth

TL;DR: In this article, a supported TiO2 film was synthesized by sol-gel method and further sensitized by CdS nanoparticles using a sequential chemical bath deposition technique, and the degradation efficiency reached 92.8% and 32.7% under UV-vis and visible light irradiation, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Densely populated mesopores in microcuboid CeO2 crystal leading to a significant enhancement of catalytic activity

TL;DR: In this article, the presence of densely populated mesopores in the microcuboid CeO2 nanocubes results in highly reactive surface lattice oxygen due to the exposure of the mesopore wall surface with high interfacial curvature, thus leading to a significant enhancement in catalytic activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evolution of microstructure of epoxy coating during UV degradation progress studied by slow positron annihilation spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this article, the evolution of chemical functional groups, microstructure and water barrier properties of polyamide-cured epoxy (diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A epoxy resin, DGEBA) coating during ultraviolet A (UV-A) photo-oxidative aging is systematically investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel effect of significant enhancement of gas-phase photocatalytic efficiency for nano ZnO

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the ionized impurity scattering and dislocation scattering on the performance of nano ZnO photocatalysts was investigated, and it was found that the effect is most probably attributed to the effects of the impurities and dislocations scattering.
