Pathological and microbiological characterization of mastitis in dairy cows

TL;DR: The gross and microscopic features of mastitis in dairy cows and to correlate them with the pathogens involved are characterized and linked to a wide range of microorganisms able to induce distinct lesions in mammary tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Disrupted day-night pattern of cardiovascular death in obstructive sleep apnea.

TL;DR: In OSA patients, the distribution of cardiovascular-related deaths throughout the 24-h period is virtually flat, in contrast with the described nighttime peak of sudden cardiac death, suggesting OSA-related phenomena during nighttime might be blunting the mechanisms, arrhythmic or not, behind the morning peak of cardiovascular -related deaths.
Journal ArticleDOI

Granulomatous Necrotizing Myositis in Swine Affected by Porcine Circovirus Disease.

TL;DR: An outbreak of porcine circovirus diseases with severe lesions affecting the skeletal muscle in pigs is described, withLocomotor clinical signs and granulomatous necrotizing myositis should be considered as another expression of PCV2 infection in pigs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Robust Portfolio Optimization with Multivariate Copulas: A Worst-Case CVaR approach

TL;DR: This work addresses the uncertainty of distribution of assets’ returns in Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) minimization model by applying multidimensional mixed Archimedean copula function and obtaining its robust counterpart, and implements a dynamic investing viable strategy where the portfolios are optimized using three different length of rolling calibration windows.
