Is Sleep Apnea a Winter Disease?: Meteorologic and Sleep Laboratory Evidence Collected Over 1 Decade
Cristiane Maria Cassol,Denis Martinez,Fernando A. Boeira Sabino da Silva,Marcia Kraide Fischer,Maria do Carmo Sfreddo Lenz,Ângelo José Gonçalves Bós +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used cosinor analysis to detect seasonality in the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) of patients undergoing polysomnography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathological and microbiological characterization of mastitis in dairy cows
Ronaldo Michel Bianchi,Claiton I. Schwertz,Bianca Santana de Cecco,Welden Panziera,Cíntia de Lorenzo,Lilian Cardoso Heck,Gustavo Geraldo Medina Snel,Bruna Correa Lopes,Fernando A. Boeira Sabino da Silva,Saulo Petinatti Pavarini,David Driemeier +10 more
TL;DR: The gross and microscopic features of mastitis in dairy cows and to correlate them with the pathogens involved are characterized and linked to a wide range of microorganisms able to induce distinct lesions in mammary tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disrupted day-night pattern of cardiovascular death in obstructive sleep apnea.
Emerson Ferreira Martins,Denis Martinez,Fernando A. Boeira Sabino da Silva,Lauren Sezerá,Rodrigo Camargo,Cintia Zappe Fiori,Flávio Danni Fuchs,Ruy S. Moraes +7 more
TL;DR: In OSA patients, the distribution of cardiovascular-related deaths throughout the 24-h period is virtually flat, in contrast with the described nighttime peak of sudden cardiac death, suggesting OSA-related phenomena during nighttime might be blunting the mechanisms, arrhythmic or not, behind the morning peak of cardiovascular -related deaths.
Journal ArticleDOI
Granulomatous Necrotizing Myositis in Swine Affected by Porcine Circovirus Disease.
Guilherme Konradt,Raquel Aparecida Sales da Cruz,Daniele Mariath Bassuino,Matheus Viezzer Bianchi,Caroline Pinto de Andrade,Fernando A. Boeira Sabino da Silva,David Driemeier,Saulo Petinatti Pavarini +7 more
TL;DR: An outbreak of porcine circovirus diseases with severe lesions affecting the skeletal muscle in pigs is described, withLocomotor clinical signs and granulomatous necrotizing myositis should be considered as another expression of PCV2 infection in pigs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Robust Portfolio Optimization with Multivariate Copulas: A Worst-Case CVaR approach
TL;DR: This work addresses the uncertainty of distribution of assets’ returns in Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) minimization model by applying multidimensional mixed Archimedean copula function and obtaining its robust counterpart, and implements a dynamic investing viable strategy where the portfolios are optimized using three different length of rolling calibration windows.
