Trityl monitoring of automated DNA synthesizer operation by conductivity : a new method of real-time analysis
TL;DR: Immediate and real-time quantitation is now possible by integrating the total conductance of the flowing stream during the detritylation step after each nucleoside addition in DNA synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cell size and actin architecture determine force generation in optogenetically activated cells.
Tomas Andersen,D. Wörthmüller,Dimitri Probst,Irène Wang,Philippe Moreau,Fitzpatrick,Thomas Boudou,Ulrich S. Schwarz,Martial Balland +8 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors combine non-neuronal optogenetics with micropatterning and traction force microscopy on soft elastic substrates to understand how activation of small GTPases translates into cell-scale force generation in the context of different physical environments.

Cell size and actin architecture determine force generation in optogenetically activated adherent cells
Tomas Andersen,D. Wörthmüller,Dimitri Probst,Irène Wang,Philippe Moreau,Fitzpatrick,Thomas Boudou,US Schwarz,Martial Balland +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that adherent cells establish tensional homeostasis by the RhoA-system, but that the setpoint and the dynamics around it are strongly determined by cell size and the architecture of the actin cytoskeleton, which both are controlled by the extracellular environment.
