Journal ArticleDOI
Full Haplotype-Mismatched Hematopoietic Stem-Cell Transplantation: A Phase II Study in Patients With Acute Leukemia at High Risk of Relapse
Franco Aversa,Adelmo Terenzi,Antonio Tabilio,Franca Falzetti,Alessandra Carotti,Stelvio Ballanti,Rita Felicini,Flavio Falcinelli,Andrea Velardi,Loredana Ruggeri,Teresa Aloisi,Jean Pierre Saab,Antonella Santucci,Katia Perruccio,Maria Paola Martelli,Cristina Mecucci,Yair Reisner,Massimo F. Martelli +17 more
TL;DR: The mismatched-related transplant emerges as a viable, alternative source of stem cells for acute leukemia patients without matched donors and/or those who urgently need transplantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
IRTA1 is selectively expressed in nodal and extranodal marginal zone lymphomas.
Brunangelo Falini,Claudio Agostinelli,Barbara Bigerna,Alessandra Pucciarini,Roberta Pacini,Alessia Tabarrini,Flavio Falcinelli,Milena Piccioli,Marco Paulli,Marcello Gambacorta,Maurilio Ponzoni,Enrico Tiacci,Stefano Ascani,Maria Paola Martelli,Riccardo Dalla Favera,Harald Stein,Stefano Pileri +16 more
TL;DR: Histopathology 61, 930–941 shows clear trends in prognosis and prognosis of infectious disease in rural Italy over the past century.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of Hepatitis B Virus Reactivation in Patients with Hematological Malignancies Treated with Chemotherapy
Daniela Francisci,Flavio Falcinelli,Elisabetta Schiaroli,Monia Capponi,Barbara Belfiori,L Flenghi,Franco Baldelli +6 more
TL;DR: Essential to the management of patients withhematological malignancies undergoing chemotherapy are surveillance and prophylaxis of HBV infection together with prompt administration of nucleoside/nucleotide analogs incases of reactivation and/or seroreversion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Haploidentical stem cell transplantation for acute leukemia.
Franco Aversa,Adelmo Terenzi,Rita Felicini,Alessandra Carotti,Flavio Falcinelli,Antonio Tabilio,Andrea Velardi,M F Martelli +7 more
TL;DR: The most suitable candidate for the full haplotype mismatched transplant should be in early stage disease and selection of an NK alloreactive donor is recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence, incidence and clinical outcome of hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus hepatitis in patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation between 2001 and 2004.
Daniela Francisci,Franco Aversa,Vittoria Coricelli,Alessandra Carotti,Benedetta Canovari,Flavio Falcinelli,Barbara Belfiori,Teresa Aloisi,Franco Baldelli,Massimo F. Martelli,Giuliano Stagni +10 more
TL;DR: The prevalence, incidence and clinical course of viral hepatitis were prospectively determined in consecutive recipients of T-cell depleted hematopoieic stem cell transplants and HBV reactivated in one patient and another developed ex novo acute hepatitis B which progressed to chronic hepatitis.
