Journal ArticleDOI

Positive frozen section margins predict local recurrence in R0-resected squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.

TL;DR: Close margins on permanent sections are associated with aggressive tumour characteristics, regional and distant metastasis implicating worse DSS and the accuracy of frozen section analysis seems limited as positive frozen section margins revised into negative margins bear a high risk of local recurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI

A rapid screening method to test apoptotic synergisms of ochratoxin A with other nephrotoxic substances.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the co-exposure of renal cells to OTA with other substances can enhance or reduce the apoptotic potential of one substance alone depending on the substance, the concentration and on the cell line investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The presence of PD-1 positive tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in triple negative breast cancers is associated with a favorable outcome of disease.

TL;DR: PD-1 expression indicates an enhanced immunological anti-tumor activity and represents a favorable prognostic impact and a deeper understanding of factors that affect the regulation and function of the PD-1/PD-L1 system is required to establish predictive variables and to utilize the system for therapeutic intervention of triple negative breast cancer patients.
