Early dissemination seeds metastasis in breast cancer
Hedayatollah Hosseini,Milan Obradovic,Martin Hoffmann,Kathryn Harper,Maria Soledad Sosa,Melanie Werner-Klein,Lahiri Kanth Nanduri,Christian Werno,Carolin Ehrl,Matthias Maneck,Nina Patwary,Gundula Haunschild,Miodrag Gužvić,Christian Reimelt,Michael Grauvogl,Norbert Eichner,Florian Weber,Andreas D. Hartkopf,Florin-Andrei Taran,Sara Y. Brucker,Tanja Fehm,Brigitte Rack,Stefan Buchholz,Rainer Spang,Gunter Meister,Julio A. Aguirre-Ghiso,Christoph Klein,Christoph Klein +27 more
TL;DR: It is shown that progesterone-induced signalling triggers migration of cancer cells from early lesions shortly after HER2 activation, but promotes proliferation in advanced primary tumour cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Positive frozen section margins predict local recurrence in R0-resected squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.
Tobias Ettl,Alain El-Gindi,Matthias G. Hautmann,Martin Gosau,Florian Weber,Christian Rohrmeier,Michael Gerken,Steffen Müller,Torsten E. Reichert,Christoph Klingelhöffer +9 more
TL;DR: Close margins on permanent sections are associated with aggressive tumour characteristics, regional and distant metastasis implicating worse DSS and the accuracy of frozen section analysis seems limited as positive frozen section margins revised into negative margins bear a high risk of local recurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Triple negative breast cancers express receptors for LHRH and are potential therapeutic targets for cytotoxic LHRH-analogs, AEZS 108 and AEZS 125
Stephan Seitz,Stefan Buchholz,Andrew V. Schally,Andrew V. Schally,Florian Weber,Monika Klinkhammer-Schalke,Elisabeth C. Inwald,Roberto Perez,Ferenc G. Rick,Luca Szalontay,Florian Hohla,SE Segerer,Chui Wai Kwok,Olaf Ortmann,Jörg B. Engel +14 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that L HRH-receptors are expressed by a significant proportion of TNBC and can be successfully used as homing sites for cytotoxic analogs of LHRH, such as AEZS-108 and AEZs-125.
Journal ArticleDOI
A rapid screening method to test apoptotic synergisms of ochratoxin A with other nephrotoxic substances.
TL;DR: It is concluded that the co-exposure of renal cells to OTA with other substances can enhance or reduce the apoptotic potential of one substance alone depending on the substance, the concentration and on the cell line investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
The presence of PD-1 positive tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in triple negative breast cancers is associated with a favorable outcome of disease.
Gero Brockhoff,Stephan Seitz,Florian Weber,Florian Zeman,Monika Klinkhammer-Schalke,Olaf Ortmann,Anja K. Wege +6 more
TL;DR: PD-1 expression indicates an enhanced immunological anti-tumor activity and represents a favorable prognostic impact and a deeper understanding of factors that affect the regulation and function of the PD-1/PD-L1 system is required to establish predictive variables and to utilize the system for therapeutic intervention of triple negative breast cancer patients.
