Journal ArticleDOI

Targeting of murine leukemia virus gag to the plasma membrane is mediated by PI(4,5)P2/PS and a polybasic region in the matrix.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the N-terminal polybasic cluster of MA is essential for Gag targeting to the plasma membrane, and the binding of the MA domain to PI(4,5)P2 appears to be a conserved feature among retroviruses.
Journal ArticleDOI

PML nuclear bodies and chromatin dynamics: catch me if you can!

TL;DR: How Promyelocytic Leukemia Nuclear Bodies participate in the chromatinization of viral genomes, as well as in the control of specific cellular chromatin assembly pathways which govern physiological mechanisms such as senescence or telomere maintenance is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kaposi’s Sarcoma Herpesvirus Genome Persistence

TL;DR: LANA’s role as an essential mediator of virus persistence makes it an attractive target for inhibition in order to prevent or treat KSHV infection and disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus LANA recruits the DNA polymerase clamp loader to mediate efficient replication and virus persistence

TL;DR: It is found that LANA recruits replication factor C (RFC), the DNA polymerase clamp [proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA)] loader, to drive DNA replication efficiently.
