Simple and Compact Balanced Bandpass Filters Based on Magnetically Coupled Resonators

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple strategy is proposed to design differential-mode bandpass filters with good common-mode (CM) rejection using simple resonators, which can easily be cascaded to implement high-order filters.
Journal ArticleDOI

New Absorbing Boundary Conditions and Analytical Model for Multilayered Mushroom-Type Metamaterials: Applications to Wideband Absorbers

TL;DR: In this article, an analytical model is presented for the analysis of multilayer wire media loaded with 2-D arrays of thin material terminations, characterized in general by a complex surface conductivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the fast approximation of Green's functions in MPIE formulations for planar layered media

TL;DR: In this article, the numerical implementation of the complex image approach for the Green's function of a mixed-potential integral-equation formulation is examined and is found to be limited to low values of /spl kappa/sub o/spl rho/ (in this context, π/spl pi/spl φ/spl/spl lambda/sub 0/spl ε/spl 0/ϵ/ ) where π is the free space wavelength and ϵ is the distance between the source and the field points of the green's function.

Balanced Microwave Filters

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examine differential mode, or balanced, microwave filters by discussing several implementations of practical realizations of these passive components, including selective mode suppression, designs based on distributed and semi-lumped approaches, multilayer technologies, defect ground structures, coupled resonators, metamaterials, interference techniques, and substrate integrated waveguides, among others.
Journal ArticleDOI

Non-Uniform Sinusoidally Modulated Half-Mode Leaky-Wave Lines for Near-Field Focusing Pattern Synthesis

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-uniform sinusoidally modulated half-mode microstrip structure with application to near-field focused leaky-wave radiation in the backward Fresnel zone is proposed.
