A Controlled Trial of Inpatient and Outpatient Geriatric Evaluation and Management
Harvey J. Cohen,John R. Feussner,Morris Weinberger,Molly Carnes,Ronald C. Hamdy,Frank Hsieh,Ciaran S. Phibbs,Donald L. Courtney,Kenneth W. Lyles,Conrad May,Cynthia T. McMurtry,Leslye C. Pennypacker,David M. Smith,Nina Ainslie,Thomas Hornick,Kayla I. Brodkin,Philip W. Lavori +16 more
TL;DR: In this controlled trial, care provided in inpatient geriatric units and outpatient geriatric clinics had no significant effects on survival and there were significant reductions in functional decline and improvements in mental health with outpatient Geriatric evaluation and management, with no increase in costs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Randomized Trial of Trauma-Focused Group Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: Results From a Department of Veterans Affairs Cooperative Study

TL;DR: The difference between the effectiveness and adequate dose findings suggests the possible value of methods to enhance the delivery of cognitive-behavioral treatments in clinical practice settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of a peripheral blood transcriptional biomarker panel associated with operational renal allograft tolerance
Sophie Brouard,Elaine Mansfield,Christophe Braud,Li Li,Magali Giral,Szu-Chuan Hsieh,Dominique Baeten,Meixia Zhang,Joanna Ashton-Chess,Cécile Braudeau,Frank Hsieh,Alexandre Dupont,A. Pallier,Anne Moreau,Stéphanie Louis,Catherine Ruiz,Oscar Salvatierra,Jean-Paul Soulillou,Minnie M. Sarwal +18 more
TL;DR: This study identifies in the blood of kidney recipients a set of genes associated with operational tolerance that may have utility as a minimally invasive monitoring tool for guiding IS titration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sample-size calculations for the Cox proportional hazards regression model with nonbinary covariates.
Frank Hsieh,Philip W. Lavori +1 more
TL;DR: A formula to calculate the number of deaths required for a proportional hazards regression model with a nonbinary covariate is derived and a variance inflation factor is provided together with simulations for adjustment of sample size when additional covariates are included in the model.
Journal ArticleDOI
