Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of bag-mask ventilation vs endotracheal intubation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation on neurological outcome after out-of-hospital cardiorespiratory arrest a randomized clinical trial
Patricia Jabre,A Penaloza,David Pinero,Francois Xavier Duchateau,Stephen W. Borron,François Javaudin,Olivier Richard,Diane de Longueville,Guillem Bouilleau,Marie Laure Devaud,Matthieu Heidet,Caroline Lejeune,Sophie Fauroux,Jean Luc Greingor,Alessandro Manara,Jean-Christophe Hubert,Bertrand Guihard,Olivier O Vermylen,Pascale Lievens,Yannick Auffret,Celine Maisondieu,Stephanie Huet,Benoît Claessens,Frédéric Lapostolle,Nicolas Javaud,Paul Georges Reuter,Elinor Baker,Eric Vicaut,Frédéric Adnet +28 more
TL;DR: Among patients with out-of-hospital cardiorespiratory arrest, the use of BMV compared with ETI failed to demonstrate noninferiority or inferiority for survival with favorable 28-day neurological function, an inconclusive result.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: A French national incidence and mid-term survival rate study
Gérald Luc,Valentine Baert,Joséphine Escutnaire,Michaël Genin,Christian Vilhelm,Christophe Di Pompeo,Carlos El Khoury,Nicolas Segal,Eric Wiel,Frédéric Adnet,Karim Tazarourte,Pierre-Yves Gueugniaud,Hervé Hubert,on behalf GR-RéAC +13 more
TL;DR: The incidence and survival at 30 days of OHCA in France appeared similar to that reported in other European countries, and compared to other causes of deaths in France, OHCA is one of the most frequent causes, regardless of the initial pathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
A survey of sedation protocols used for emergency endotracheal intubation in poisoned patients in the French prehospital medical system.
TL;DR: Sedation alone for intubation appears to be inadequate to achieve good intubating conditions in a significant proportion of patients, and neuromuscular blockade with sedation was associated with the lowest incidence of difficult intubations in poisoned patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relation of body position at the time of discovery with suspected aspiration pneumonia in poisoned comatose patients.
TL;DR: The prone position appears to be associated with a lower incidence of SAP than the lateral decubitus position in comatose poisoned patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Value of C-Reactive Protein in the Detection of Bacterial Contamination at the Time of Presentation in Drug-Induced Aspiration Pneumonia
Frédéric Adnet,Stephen W. Borron,Eric Vicaut,Véronique Giraudeaux,Frédéric Lapostolle,Rafik Bekka,Frédéric J. Baud +6 more
TL;DR: Early measurement of CRP is useful for the diagnosis of aerobic bacterial content of aspiration pneumonia and perhaps in determining the need for invasive bacteriologic sampling and temperature and WBC count demonstrated poor diagnostic value.
