Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: A French national incidence and mid-term survival rate study
Gérald Luc,Valentine Baert,Joséphine Escutnaire,Michaël Genin,Christian Vilhelm,Christophe Di Pompeo,Carlos El Khoury,Nicolas Segal,Eric Wiel,Frédéric Adnet,Karim Tazarourte,Pierre-Yves Gueugniaud,Hervé Hubert,on behalf GR-RéAC +13 more
TL;DR: The incidence and survival at 30 days of OHCA in France appeared similar to that reported in other European countries, and compared to other causes of deaths in France, OHCA is one of the most frequent causes, regardless of the initial pathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of changes in cardiopulmonary resuscitation practices and outcomes on 1005 victims of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest during the COVID-19 outbreak: registry-based study.
Valentine Baert,Deborah Jaeger,Hervé Hubert,Jean-Baptiste Lascarrou,Guillaume Debaty,Tahar Chouihed,François Javaudin +6 more
TL;DR: During the COVID-19 period, there was a decrease in CPR initiation regardless of whether patients were suspected of SARS-CoV-2 infection or not, and it is important to communicate good resuscitation practices to avoid drastic and lasting reductions in survival rates after an OHCA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Traumatic cardiac arrest is associated with lower survival rate vs. medical cardiac arrest - Results from the French national registry.
Joséphine Escutnaire,Michaël Genin,Evgéniya Babykina,Cyrielle Dumont,François Javaudin,Valentine Baert,Pierre Mols,Jan-Thorsten Gräsner,Eric Wiel,Pierre-Yves Gueugniaud,Karim Tazarourte,Hervé Hubert,on behalf GR-RéAC +12 more
TL;DR: Although the probability of survival is lower for trauma victims, the efforts are not futile and pre-hospital resuscitation efforts seem worthwhile, with wider difference in matched vs. non-matched cohorts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Socioeconomic status and incidence of cardiac arrest: a spatial approach to social and territorial disparities.
Laurent Castra,Michaël Genin,Joséphine Escutnaire,Valentine Baert,Jean-Marc Agostinucci,François Revaux,Cécile Ursat,Karim Tazarourte,Frédéric Adnet,Hervé Hubert +9 more
TL;DR: Strong geographical variations in CA incidence are shown and a statistically significant relationship between over-incidence and social deprivation variables is shown.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intraosseous Versus Peripheral Intravenous Access During Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest: a Comparison of 30-Day Survival and Neurological Outcome in the French National Registry.
Valentine Baert,Christian Vilhelm,Joséphine Escutnaire,Sophie Nave,Delphine Hugenschmitt,Tahar Chouihed,Karim Tazarourte,François Javaudin,Eric Wiel,Carlos El Khoury,Hervé Hubert,GR-RéAC +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that intraosseous access is a comparably effective alternative to peripheral intravenous access for treating OHCA patients on matched populations.
