Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of pain syndromes associated with nervous or somatic lesions and development of a new neuropathic pain diagnostic questionnaire (DN4)
Didier Bouhassira,Nadine Attal,Haiel Alchaar,François Boureau,Bruno Brochet,Jean Bruxelle,G. Cunin,Jacques Fermanian,Patrick Ginies,Aurélie Grun-Overdyking,Hélène Jafari-Schluep,Michel Lanteri-Minet,Bernard Laurent,Gérard Mick,Alain Serrie,Dominique Valade,Eric Vicaut +16 more
TL;DR: The 10‐item questionnaire developed in the present study constitutes a new diagnostic instrument, which might be helpful both in clinical research and daily practice and found that a relatively small number of items are sufficient to discriminate neuropathic pain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early decompressive surgery in malignant infarction of the middle cerebral artery: a pooled analysis of three randomised controlled trials
Katayoun Vahedi,Jeannette Hofmeijer,Eric Juettler,Eric Vicaut,Bernard George,Ale Algra,G Johan Amelink,Peter Schmiedeck,Stefan Schwab,Stefan Schwab,Peter M. Rothwell,Marie-Germaine Bousser,H. Bart van der Worp,Werner Hacke +13 more
TL;DR: In patients with malignant MCA infarction, decompressive surgery undertaken within 48 h of stroke onset reduces mortality and increases the number of patients with a favourable functional outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fibrinolysis for Patients with Intermediate- Risk Pulmonary Embolism
Guy Meyer,Eric Vicaut,Thierry Danays,Giancarlo Agnelli,Cecilia Becattini,Jan Beyer-Westendorf,Erich Bluhmki,Hélène Bouvaist,Benjamin Brenner,Francis Couturaud,Claudia Dellas,Klaus Empen,Ana Franca,Nazzareno Galiè,Annette Geibel,Samuel Z. TL;DR: In patients with intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism, fibrinolytic therapy prevented hemodynamic decompensation but increased the risk of major hemorrhage and stroke.
Journal ArticleDOI
Medical management with or without interventional therapy for unruptured brain arteriovenous malformations (ARUBA): a multicentre, non-blinded, randomised trial
Jay P. Mohr,Michael K. Parides,Christian Stapf,Christian Stapf,Ellen Moquete,Claudia S. Moy,Jessica Overbey,Rustam Al-Shahi Salman,Eric Vicaut,William L. Young,Emmanuel Houdart,Charlotte Cordonnier,Marco Antonio Stefani,Andreas Hartmann,Rüdiger von Kummer,Alessandra Biondi,Joachim Berkefeld,Catharina J.M. Klijn,Kirsty Harkness,Richard B. Libman,Xavier Barreau,Alan J. Moskowitz +21 more
TL;DR: The ARUBA trial showed that medical management alone is superior to medical management with interventional therapy for the prevention of death or stroke in patients with unruptured brain arteriovenous malformations followed up for 33 months.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bedside monitoring to adjust antiplatelet therapy for coronary stenting.
Jean-Philippe Collet,Thomas Cuisset,Grégoire Rangé,Guillaume Cayla,Simon Elhadad,Christophe Pouillot,Patrick Henry,Pascal Motreff,Didier Carrié,Ziad Boueri,Loic Belle,Eric Van Belle,Hélène Rousseau,Pierre Aubry,Jacques Monsegu,Pierre Sabouret,Jérémie Abtan,Mathieu Kerneis,Christophe Saint-Etienne,Olivier Barthelemy,Farzin Beygui,Johanne Silvain,Eric Vicaut,Gilles Montalescot +23 more
TL;DR: This study showed no significant improvements in clinical outcomes with platelet-function monitoring and treatment adjustment for coronary stenting, as compared with standard antiplatelet therapy without monitoring.
