Group visits improve metabolic control in type 2 diabetes: a 2-year follow-up.
Marina Trento,Pietro Passera,M. Tomalino,M. Bajardi,Fulvio Pomero,A Allione,Piero Vaccari,Gian Michele Molinatti,Massimo Porta +8 more
TL;DR: Group consultations may improve metabolic control in the medium term by inducing more appropriate health behaviors and are feasible in everyday clinical practice without increasing working hours.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy of emergency physician-performed ultrasonography in the diagnosis of deep-vein thrombosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Fulvio Pomero,Francesco Dentali,Valentina Borretta,Matteo Bonzini,Remo Melchio,James D. Douketis,Luigi Fenoglio +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that EPPU may be useful in the management of patients with suspected DVT, and future prospective studies are warranted to confirm these findings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characteristics and management of pyogenic liver abscess: A European experience.
Cristina Serraino,Chiara Elia,Christian Bracco,Gianluca Rinaldi,Fulvio Pomero,Alberto Silvestri,Remo Melchio,Luigi Fenoglio +7 more
TL;DR: A retrospective, descriptive case series at a single center assessing demographic characteristics, presentation patterns, etiological factors, microbiological etiology, and management for patients treated for PLA between 2000 and 2016 found PLA is a diagnostically challenging problem due to nonspecific presenting characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time trends and case fatality rate of in-hospital treated pulmonary embolism during 11 years of observation in Northwestern Italy
Francesco Dentali,Walter Ageno,Fulvio Pomero,Luigi Fenoglio,Alessandro Squizzato,Matteo Bonzini +5 more
TL;DR: Time trends over an 11-year period show an increasing incidence of PE, but a significant reduction in mortality during hospitalisation, and reduction in the case fatality rate remained significant after adjustment for possible confounders.
Journal ArticleDOI
