DASH diet score and distribution of blood pressure in middle-aged men and women.
Janas M. Harrington,Anthony P. Fitzgerald,Patricia M. Kearney,Vera J. C. McCarthy,Jamie M. Madden,G Browne,Eamon Dolan,Ivan J. Perry +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of compliance with a DASH-type diet on blood pressure (BP) in a general population sample is studied, and the observed associations indicate that adherence to DASHequivalent diet can reduce BP at the population level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence and variation of Chronic Kidney Disease in the Irish health system: initial findings from the National Kidney Disease Surveillance Programme
Austin G. Stack,Liam F. Casserly,Liam F. Casserly,Cornelius J. Cronin,Cornelius J. Cronin,Tetyana Chernenko,Walter Cullen,Ailish Hannigan,Rajiv Saran,Howard Johnson,G Browne,John P Ferguson +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the overall prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the Irish health system, assess period trends and explore patterns of variation as part of a novel surveillance initiative.
Journal ArticleDOI
Validation of diet and urinary excretion derived estimates of sodium excretion against 24-h urine excretion in a worksite sample.
TL;DR: Neither dietary nor spot urine sample methods provide adequate validity in the estimation of 24-h urinary sodium at the individual level, however, group mean errors from dietary methods are small and random and compare favourably with those from spot urine samples in this population.
