Journal ArticleDOI
Epigenetics in plant tissue culture
TL;DR: This review discusses recent studies that have uncovered epigenetic modifications at the molecular level, viz., changes in DNA methylation and alterations of histone methylation or acetylation, thought to underlie various well-known tissue-culture phenomena including rejuvenation, habituation, and morphological changes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Timing of the phases in adventitious root formation in apple microcuttings
TL;DR: Analysis of the kinetics of root emergence indicated that added IBA acted from 24 h onwards: emergence of roots from the tissue occurred simultaneously for the IBA pulses at 0-24h and 24-48 h, but lagged 1 d behind for the 48-72 h pulse and 2 d for the 72-96 h pulse.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regeneration of roots, shoots and embryos: physiological, biochemical and molecular aspects
TL;DR: The successive steps in the regeneration process coincide with events on the molecular and biochemical levels, but so far no coherent picture has emerged.
Journal Article
Photoautotrophic micropropagation - environmental control for promoting photosynthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of low temperature on dormancy breaking and growth after planting in lily bulblets regenerated in vitro
TL;DR: During dormancy breaking the tissue is prepared not only for sprouting but also for subsequent bulb growth, which indicates that during this period, preparation for later bulb growth involves mobilization of carbohydrate reserves which play a role in leaf growth and development of the photosynthetic apparatus.
