TL;DR: In this paper, a search for beam-related oscillations was conducted at the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility using the LSND beam from the decay in flight, and the observed oscillation probability of $(2.6\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.0

Mineral oil tests for the MiniBooNE detector
J.L. Raaf,A.O. Bazarko,G. T. Garvey,E.A. Hawker,R. A. Johnson,G.B. Mills,A. Pla-Dalmau,R. Tayloe +7 more
TL;DR: The MiniBooNE experiment at Fermilab as discussed by the authors is a 12m-diameter sphere filled with mineral oil and instrumented with photomultiplier tubes, which will unambiguously confirm or refute the existence of the neutrino oscillation signal seen by the liquid scintillator neutrinos detector (LSND) at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
