Journal ArticleDOI
Charge Distribution and Local Structure and Speciation in the UO2+x and PuO2+x Binary Oxides for x <0.25.
Steven D. Conradson,Bruce D. Begg,David Clark,Christophe Den Auwer,Mei Ding,Peter K. Dorhout,Francisco J. Espinosa-Faller,Pamela L. Gordon,Richard G. Haire,Nancy J. Hess,Ryan F. Hess,D. Webster Keogh,Gerard H. Lander,Dario Manara,Luis A. Morales,Mary P. Neu,Patricia Paviet-Hartmann,Jean Rebizant,Vincenzo V. Rondinella,Wolfgang Runde,C. Drew Tait,D. Kirk Veirs,P. Villella,Franck Wastin +23 more
TL;DR: The local structure and chemical speciation of the mixed valence, fluorite-based oxides UO{sub 2+x} (0.00=
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural behavior of α-uranium with pressures to 100 GPa
T. Le Bihan,S. Heathman,M. Idiri,Gerard H. Lander,Gerard H. Lander,John M. Wills,A. C. Lawson,A. Lindbaum +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the structural behavior of the orthorhombic Cmcm structure is studied up to 100 GPa in diamond anvil cells using angle-dispersive x-ray diffraction at a synchrotron source.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electronic structure of actinide antimonides and tellurides from photoelectron spectroscopy
Tomasz Durakiewicz,John J. Joyce,Gerard H. Lander,Gerard H. Lander,C. G. Olson,M. T. Butterfield,Elzbieta Guziewicz,Elzbieta Guziewicz,A. J. Arko,Luis A. Morales,Jean Rebizant,Kurt Mattenberger,O. Vogt +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, angular-resolved studies on the U compounds of the photoelectron spectroscopy were carried out and the spectral features show little dependence on incident photon energy, suggesting they all contain comparable amounts of $5f$ and conduction character.
Journal ArticleDOI
Possible Bose-condensate behavior in a quantum phase originating in a collective excitation in the chemically and optically doped Mott-Hubbard system UO2+x
Steven D. Conradson,Tomasz Durakiewicz,Francisco J. Espinosa-Faller,Yong Q. An,David A. Andersson,Alan R. Bishop,Kevin S. Boland,J. A. Bradley,J. A. Bradley,Darrin D. Byler,David Clark,Dylan R. Lezama-Pacheco,Thomas Proffen,George Rodriguez,Daniel E. Schwarz,Gerald T. Seidler,Antoinette J. Taylor,Stuart A. Trugman,Trevor A. Tyson,James A. Valdez +28 more
TL;DR: In this article, Raman et al. showed that UO(VI)-oxo moieties with x rays for mixed valence UO{2+x}$ compounds exhibit different nearest-neighbor U-O distributions at each temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
A search for anharmonic effects in NpO2 at low temperature by neutron diffraction
TL;DR: In this article, a single crystal neutron diffraction experiment has been performed on NpO2 to search for anomalies in the Debye-Waller factors associated with the as yet unexplained 25 K phase transition.
